This morning, I had the opportunity to visit the Beauregard Council on Aging to talk about the importance of physical activity for older adults and join participants in their energizing Cardio Drumming class! ๐ฅ๐ช
Did you know older adults should aim for 150 minutes of physical activity each week? That's just 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
Staying active doesn't have to mean structured exercise. Everyday activities like gardening, walking, or playing with grandchildren can all help you reach that goal.
Making physical activity social can also help you stay motivated. The Council on Aging will be offering Cardio Drumming every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., providing a fun way to move, connect with others, and support healthy aging.
Regular physical activity can help older adults maintain strength, improve balance, and preserve their independence so they can continue doing the things they enjoy.
