Something wild is happening in Kenya’s clothing business. 👀

A retailer reached out & says he used to buy clothes from a wholesaler in Kamukunji at KSh 700 and sell them at KSh 1,400.

Then recently he went on TikTok and found the SAME wholesaler selling directly to customers for KSh 700.

And it gets worse.

The wholesaler was reportedly telling customers that anyone selling above KSh 700 was “robbing” them.

Now retailers are angry, saying wholesalers are slowly becoming retailers and killing their businesses.

But honestly, this has put me in a dilemma.

The customer wants cheap clothes.
The retailer wants to make a living.
The wholesaler wants to maximise sales.

And TikTok has basically removed the middleman.

So who is actually wrong here?

The retailer trying to make a margin, or the wholesaler giving Kenyans a cheaper price?

This could completely change how Kenyans buy and sell clothes. 👀 Sholla Ard

If oil is getting cheaper out there, why are we still broke at the pump?

CBK says Murban fell from $84.76 to $81.78 in a week. Hormuz is moving again. The shilling didn’t flinch. Reserves are sitting at $14.9 billion. Somewhere, traders & citizens already cashed the good news. But, here, you’re still counting coins for last month’s fuel.

That’s what hurts. When prices shoot up, Kenya feels it the same week.

When prices fall, suddenly there’s a ship on the water, a tank that “hasn’t emptied,” and a review that will come… later. Always later.

If this drop is real, let it show in a litre. If it won’t, stop telling us to be hopeful.

What is the exact price of 2kg unga in your area today?

NTV just revealed data yesterday showing the reality on the ground: Nairobi is paying KSh 130–170, Eldoret KSh 120–160, and Kakamega KSh 120–160.

Wait, didn’t President Ruto promise us after election that a 2kg packet of unga would drop to KSh 100?

Instead, millions of hard-working Kenyans are still struggling to put a basic meal on the table as the cost of living keeps rising.

He then says that all Kenyans are happy. This govt has to go.

Kenya’s debt is now Ksh13.01T, Ksh7.33T at home, Ksh5.68T abroad. A year ago, it was Ksh11.81T. Treasury still wants another Ksh1.12T this year.

Ruto says it only rose about 27% from the Ksh10.3T he inherited. Debt service however does not care. We have been paying Ksh1.7T–1.9T a year, with interest near Ksh1.1T. Thats money that never reaches hospitals or unfinished roads.

This is the government that promised to stop borrowing to survive. The book is heavier, the gap is still a trillion, and banks buy Treasuries while private credit waits.

Ksh13T is not proof of collapse. It is proof the model did not change.

A 16-year-old boy just died in Marsabit because a snake bit him while he was herding cattle… and the nearest health centre had NOTHING to save him.

No antivenom.
No emergency response.

The parents too had no money to transfer him to a bigger hospital

He suffered from Friday to Monday morning… then died in his family’s arms at home.

This is Kenya in 2026.

Children are still dying from snakebites in remote areas while antivenom sits locked away or simply doesn’t exist where it’s needed most.

How many more young lives must we bury before the government treats this like the emergency it is?!

Woi! Ruto just stood in a church in Taita Taveta and suddenly announced fertiliser is dropping from 2,500 to 2,000 and maize seeds cut by half starting next month.

The long rains already failed, planting is over, people are struggling… and now, suddenly, this?

This is pure Ol Kalou bribe vibes. Same old game.

Wait until election year starts heating up, then throw “gifts” at farmers.

If they could lower the price all this time, why now? Why when there are only a few months left before people go to vote?

This doesn’t feel like help. It feels like they’re trying to buy us again.

🚨 Kenyan businesses are abandoning bank loans and surviving purely on cash and retained earnings, the July 2026 CBK survey just confirmed the collapse.

High rates, ruthless collateral demands, dead demand, and rising uncertainty have made debt a death sentence. Firms now fund working capital and daily operations from internal reserves, refusing to borrow.

Banks still project 9.9% credit growth for 2026, down from 11.7%, but the real economy is in full retreat. Fuel costs, energy prices, and weak consumer spending are crushing margins.

This is Ruto’s direct failure: “easing” that never arrives, production costs that keep exploding under his rule, and policies that force businesses into cash-hoarding survival instead of growth.

The credit freeze Keynes described is here, engineered by a government that has priced opportunity out of reach.
