Happy birthday, baby girl.

This was not a typical birth. I, like most of us, was incredibly naive until it happened, and I thought this wouldn’t happen, possibly not for years or ever. This precious baby was born sleeping.

She was received into the hands that created her, the hands that love her most, and the hands that will protect her forever.

This was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. As a doula, I have the answers; I am prepared for most birth circumstances, not this time. I don’t have the answers for why this happened. It was simply a freak accident.

Please join me in praying for this family in the midst of a horrible tragedy, that the Lord would be near and cast His peace upon them.

There is such a blessing in knowing that this baby did not suffer, did not know pain, and was welcomed into Heaven. One day, her mom and dad will reunite with their baby, and it will be a glorious day.
