Sensory seeking behaviors can be challenging and sometimes confusing for parents to navigate, but they're often a toddler's way of trying to feel regulated, calm, or engaged with the world around them. Instead of focusing on stopping the behavior completely, it can help to safely redirect your little one toward activities that meet those sensory needs in a more appropriate way.

Below are a few sensory-friendly activities to try that may help support regulation and sensory input in a safe, engaging way:

🔶 Activities with jumping, climbing, or lots of movement
🔶 Hands-on sensory play like Play-Doh, kinetic sand, or sensory bins
🔶 Swinging, spinning, dancing, or active play
🔶 Comforting deep pressure like tight hugs or pillow squeezes
🔶 Crunchy or chewy snacks during snack time
🔶 Fun sensory activities with water, bubbles, or textured toys

Wondering why your baby suddenly isn't finishing their bottle? Sometimes little ones eat less because they're teething, distracted, tired, not feeling well, or simply going through changes in appetite as they grow.

Watching your baby’s feeding cues and patterns can help you better understand what they may need. If feeding changes seem ongoing or concerning, don't hesitate to reach out to your pediatrician.

Babies and toddlers learn about the world by exploring their environment and taking in experiences as they happen. Every interaction they have offers a chance to observe, connect, and build understanding of their surroundings, with creativity helping guide how they interact and respond.

Through play, exploration, and everyday moments together, you can support your little one's creativity in powerful ways that help build early skills in communication, curiosity, problem-solving, self-expression, and more!

For babies:
🔸Provide plenty of space for movement and exploration, like reaching, grasping, and crawling
🔸Offer safe sensory experiences with different textures, sights, and sounds
🔸Talk, sing, and read regularly to support early communication and recognition

For toddlers:
🔸Encourage pretend play and imitation of everyday experiences
🔸Offer open-ended materials like crayons, blocks, or playdough for free exploration
🔸Allow unstructured playtime where they can explore without specific outcomes

Here's to celebrating early growth, learning, and creativity! 🎨✨
