In the event that severe weather may occur, it is important to understand the difference between a watch, warning, and advisory. A watch means there is potential for a dangerous weather event. A warning means there is dangerous weather coming and immediate action is necessary. Lastly, an advisory means conditions are less serious than a warning, but if caution is not taken it could lead to situations that threaten life and property. It's important to ensure that you and your loved ones are prepared.
