The AKOMA DAY Holiday

The Akoma is an ancient Afrakan Adinkra (Ghana) symbol of divine love and unity that is commonly called the "heart" today.

The Akoma Day holiday is a cultural alternative to Valentine's Day and celebrates 7 virtues, 7 principles and 7 symbols that represent a deeper... more meaningful love for any relationship.

Akoma Day was created by Montsho & Nwasha Edu (a happily married soulmate team) to promote cultural unity and enhance love relationships. The following serves as a general outline for each Akoma Day whether you are celebrating as an individual, couple or family group:

Akoma Sherehe/Love Celebration
Begin each day with a prayer welcoming the divine presence into your celebration
Pour libation for the ancestors and those shining examples of true love- families, couples, organizations that lovingly serve family and community
Light "mishumma" (candles) to represent the illumination of our souls
Ask focus questions related to the virtue and principle of the day
Share purpose, mission and vision statements of all willing participants
Taste the "uchungu" (bitter), "utamu" (sweet), and "maji" (bland)
Pass the "ubele" (feather) for “feathertalk” and discuss your personal reference for the virtue and principle of the day
State your "agano" (pledge) for that day’s corresponding virtue and principle
Tell "visa"(stories) and play games
Give the "hiba" (gift given as a sign of love) to yourself, mate, family, or community
Enjoy the "sherehe" (feast)

We watched Tyler Perry's new installment:

"Why did I get Married Again"

for Nwasha's in the House Date and it was really good intentions terms of realism.

We usually get on Tyler for being a C level film maker but a A level story teller and that held true.....but the scene where the 4 sets of parents talked face to face with their children about demystifying the illusions of marriage and accepting the challenges of the reality of marriage is one of the greatest scences in black relationship movie history.

Check it out.

Do you know your erotic fingerprint? 👀🔥

Not just what “turns you on.”

Do you know when your body naturally experiences the most desire?

What shuts your desire down?

What you learned about s*xuality from your family?

How your earliest s*xual experiences shaped the way you experience intimacy today?

What happens when you intentionally engage your thought, emotion, sight, sound, smell, taste AND touch?

Most of us were never taught to explore ourselves this deeply.

That’s part of the Heartwork for our final Heat of Love class inside Black Love School:

🔥 THE OR**SM

And we're going much deeper than s*xual technique.

We're exploring the spiritual dimension of s*x from an Indigenous Black perspective.

We’ll discuss the distinctions between ej*******on, injaculation, climax and or**sm... and explore or**sm as a pinnacle experience that can move beyond physical pleasure and reveal something about the unified purpose of two people coming together.

Then we put the teaching into practice.

Your Heartwork invites you to:

❤️ Discover your erotic fingerprint
❤️ Examine the s*xual messages you inherited
❤️ Explore your patterns of desire
❤️ Practice circulating arousing energy
❤️ Explore arousal through all 7 senses
❤️ Beautify yourself and your environment
❤️ Make more room for sensuality in your life

When you join BLS, you'll get The Or**sm pre-recorded class + Heartwork + access to our LIVE Q&A.

PLUS, there are now 45+ pre-recorded classes on the art and science of Black Love waiting for you inside.

And this class marks the end of summer.

🔥 THE HEAT OF LOVE is coming to a close…

…and we're preparing for:

🍂 THE HARVEST OF LOVE

Our fall classes will focus on managing relationships, expanding community, and intentionally planting and harvesting the seeds of Black Love.

Summer is about the heat.

Fall is about what we do with the love we've created.

We’ve been taught that the purpose of a relationship is to make us happy. So when we’re unhappy, frustrated or uncomfortable, we start wondering if something is wrong.

But intimate relationships have a deeper purpose... the perfection of our character.

Love will call you into greater patience, honesty, courage, accountability, compassion and sometimes stronger boundaries.

And when you answer that call to evolve, you can discover new levels of the happiness you were craving all along.

JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN STILL HAVE S*X DOESN’T MEAN YOU CAN STILL HAVE AN INTIMATE LOVE RELATIONSHIP.

And this is where so many people are confused.

S*x is powerful enough to temporarily distort your perspective. Lust can make you overlook questions you desperately need to answer:

What do you and your s*x partner actually want from each other?

Do they genuinely like you?

Do they respect you?

Do they value you?

Are they building with you—or simply using you for secondary ma********on?

And most importantly:

If the s*x disappeared tomorrow, would there still be a relationship worth having?

Unfortunately, many of us are so lonely and unskilled in matters of love that we will engage in some of the highest-risk behavior with our bodies just to temporarily feel better.

S*x has become an emotional pacifier for many people in the Western world.

You use food, entertainment, and s*x to instantly soothe painful problems you haven't developed the skills to solve.

And when the quality doesn't satisfy you, you compensate with quantity.

More food.

More entertainment.

More s*x.

Until eventually, you create another problem—or help create another unhealthy person.

So how do you break the cycle?

First, you need the emotional vulnerability to tell yourself the truth.

Then you need to decide where you genuinely want to be.

Next, you need to develop the specific relationship skills required to create a real opportunity to get there.

And finally, you need a system that simplifies the entire process so you aren't constantly guessing, reacting, and repeating the same mistakes.

That's exactly what we do in Akoma S.O.U.L., our premier relationship skills-building program.

We help you:

❤️ Identify and change limiting beliefs
❤️ Develop the relationship skills you actually need
❤️ Apply those skills through a practical system
❤️ Simplify the process of building healthy, intimate love

If you're ready to stop deluding yourself, stop guessing about things you should know, and stop having s*x with people who always want the pleasure but never want the responsibility, accountability, and vulnerability that come with real intimacy…

What do we say about Aja & Yada's situation????

1. BEATING OUR WOMEN IS UNACCEPTABLE absolutely wrong and he must be brought into account to develop better character.

2. DIVORCE IS DEVASTATING to the black family and nation and its impact is felt for decades.

3. THIS VERY UGLY BLEMISH doesn't invalidate all the truths about health/wellness that he has spoken or the good deeds he has done in the past.

4. PRAY for them and their children.

5. WE ARE ALL GREATER THAN any one behavior positive or negative that we display and we all must face the reciprocity of MENTAL MAGNETISM that most mislabel "KARMA"
(a false concept to Classical African people)

6. COUPLES WHO SHARE their "relationship up side" publicly are unconciously signing up for their "relationship down side" to reach the light of day one way or another. Be authentic, and tell people " WE STRUGGLE WITH ISSUES TOO" despite our money, fame & access etc.

7.CANCEL CULTURE IS A CORNY yt INVENTION not based in reality. No black person/people can cancel another black person/people.
This is actually a time to be mature and support this brother and sister in their time of need.

CALLING ALL QUALIFIED ELDERS to guide them both in their journey toward greater character development and away from both of their profound character imperfections including physical violence and posturing & long term lying to the collective black nation that they claim to love and serve.
