When was the last time you truly rested without feeling like you should be doing something else?

For our next Wild New Way Book Club, I've chosen Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto by Tricia Hersey, and I think this one is going to spark some great conversations!

After years of juggling careers, relationships, families, responsibilities, and everyone else's needs, many of us have become pretty good at getting things done. But somewhere along the way, we may have forgotten how to simply enjoy life without feeling the need to be productive.

Hersey challenges some deeply ingrained beliefs about work, success, and self-worth, especially the idea that rest is something we have to earn. And she raises an interesting question. What if our constant need to be productive has more to do with conditioning than with what we actually want for ourselves?

I'm especially interested in exploring how these beliefs show up in our own lives. Why can doing nothing feel so uncomfortable? Where does the guilt come from when we put ourselves first? And how might our lives change if we stopped measuring our worth by how much we accomplish?

We'll have some fun unpacking these ideas, questioning a few long-held assumptions, and sharing our own experiences and perspectives. You don't have to agree with the author, and I suspect some of her ideas may challenge us in interesting ways!

And if you haven't finished the book, please come anyway! There's plenty here for all of us to explore, whether you've read every page or are simply curious about the conversation.

Looking forward to a wonderful evening of connection, laughter, and some thought-provoking discussion with you!

Sometimes we keep looking for clarity in what we should do next while overlooking what has already been repeating in our own experience.

A familiar relationship pattern, an emotional reaction that feels stronger than expected, a dream that stays with you, tension in your body, or a question that keeps returning can all be worth paying attention to.

None of these things automatically gives you an answer, but they can offer clues about what may be happening beneath the surface.

Swipe through to explore five ways your inner life may be trying to get your attention.

If something keeps showing up and you are ready to understand it more deeply, a complimentary 1:1 Clarity Session can help you explore the patterns, emotions, and questions underneath it.

Money is rarely just about the numbers in front of us. It can become connected to security, responsibility, independence, success, generosity, self-worth, and even what we believe we are allowed to want for ourselves.

On Wednesday, October 28, Cindy Schmidt will lead the Women’s Collective Money Shadow Workshop, an opportunity to look more closely at the beliefs and emotional patterns that may quietly influence the way we earn, spend, save, receive, and make decisions around money.

In Jungian psychology, the shadow refers to parts of ourselves that we may have learned to hide, judge, or push outside our awareness. When we bring that idea into our relationship with money, we can begin noticing the assumptions and stories we have carried for years without necessarily realizing how much they still affect our choices.

This is not a budgeting or financial-planning workshop. Cindy will guide participants in exploring what money may represent personally and how those meanings can show up in relationships, boundaries, decision-making, responsibility, and our sense of what is possible.

Wednesday, October 28, 2026 | 9:00 to 10:30 AM MST
The Durango Collective | 1315 Main Ave., Durango, CO
Investment: $49

Doors open at 8:30 AM so you can settle in and connect with other women before the workshop begins. You’re also warmly invited to stay afterward for continued conversation and connection.

No previous knowledge of Jungian psychology or shadow work is needed.

“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.” - Ram Dass

There is so much competing for our attention that it can be difficult to notice what is happening underneath the noise.

We often look for clarity by thinking harder, asking more questions, or gathering more opinions, when sometimes what we need is enough quiet to notice what has already been trying to get our attention.

Quiet does not always give us an immediate answer, but it can create the space to hear ourselves more clearly and recognize what gets lost when everything else is speaking at once.

You don’t need to have your finances perfectly organized or consider yourself “good with money” to be part of this conversation.

Our October Wild New Way Women’s Collective gathering with Maggie Emerson, a Money Mentor and Coach, offers an opportunity to become more curious about the beliefs and experiences that have shaped your relationship with money and how they may still be influencing your choices today.

During Women, Money & the Conversations We’re Not Having, we’ll explore what we want, how comfortable we feel talking about what we earn, what can make asking for more difficult, and some of the beliefs that may be sitting underneath those decisions.

This isn’t a traditional financial class, and you don’t need to arrive with answers. It’s a chance to look at money from a more personal perspective, reflect on your own experiences, and consider what might change when these conversations become easier to have.

We’re excited to welcome Maggie Emerson as our October Wild New Way Women’s Collective guest speaker.

Maggie is a Money Mentor and Coach who works with women and creative entrepreneurs on both the practical and personal sides of money. Her work goes beyond numbers and financial strategy to explore the beliefs and patterns that can influence how we earn, spend, ask, receive, and make decisions about money.

On Wednesday, October 21, Maggie will join us for Women, Money & the Conversations We’re Not Having, where we’ll explore some of the money conversations women often avoid and consider what may be shaping the way we approach them.

If you’re curious about your own relationship with money and interested in looking at it from a different perspective, we’d love to have you join us.

📅 Wednesday, October 21 | Doors open at 8:30 AM, with time for connection and conversation before we begin.

We may be comfortable talking about what something costs, whether we can afford it, or what needs to be paid. But conversations about what we earn, what we want, or what we would like to ask for can feel much more personal.

Why can asking for more feel uncomfortable? How often do we stop to consider what we genuinely want rather than what we think we should want? And what beliefs about money may be influencing those answers?

These are some of the questions we’ll explore with Money Mentor and Coach Maggie Emerson at our October Women’s Collective gathering, Women, Money & the Conversations We’re Not Having.

Together, we’ll look at some of the beliefs and patterns that can shape our relationship with money and consider what might change when we become more willing to talk about them openly.

Have you ever been so focused on solving a problem that you forgot to notice how the people involved were experiencing it?

This is where two very different leadership energies can work beautifully together.

The Magician helps us step back, notice patterns, and see what others may have missed. The Lover reminds us to stay connected to the people behind the problem and pay attention to who may not be feeling heard or included.

We need both.

Insight without connection can feel distant. Connection without perspective can make it harder to see what actually needs to change.

When these two energies work together, we can approach difficult conversations and decisions with more understanding while still remembering the people affected by them.

If you’re curious about what this work could look like in your own life, I offer a complimentary 1:1 Clarity Session. It gives us space to look more closely at the patterns shaping your relationships, choices, and next steps, and to begin uncovering what may need to shift.
