One year ago, I walked away from what I truly believed was my dream job.
It was a job I thought I would someday retire from. But when I found myself in a situation where my values and what I believed was right were no longer supported, I knew I had to make a difficult choice.
I had no idea what the next chapter would look like.
Thankfully, I had a husband who believed in me and supported me without ever pushing me to “find another job.” Then, as fall approached, a little friendly needling from friends planted a seed: Maybe you should open your own place.
Not long after, I walked into a worn-out building and thought, “That’s about the right size for a studio.”
And that was the beginning of The BIN. 🤍
A year later, I have no regrets.
Yes, a beautiful building was created. But what has been created inside those walls means so much more to me.
The BIN has become a place where people can walk through the door exactly as they are. A place to move, breathe, grow, laugh, rest, and reconnect. A place where you don’t have to be at a certain level of fitness, flexibility, or confidence to belong.
A place where everyone is welcome—no matter where they are on their journey.
Sometimes the ending of something we thought was our future is simply the beginning of something we couldn’t yet imagine.
One year ago, I didn’t know what was next.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful for where the path led me.
Happy one-year anniversary to the beginning of The BIN. 🌾🤍
And thank you to everyone who has walked through those doors and helped make it what it is.
