East 14th St, Election Day, 2016. 7am. I was sooooo pregnant and desperately uncomfortable. Waddling. Barely made it to that damn line but there was no way I wasn’t going to vote. And I was adamant about doing it in person.

The line was so long. People waited for hours and hours. I waddled to the end of the line and as I gripped my husband’s arm I was like f*ck. My ankles are so swollen I can’t stand here for very long. So Brett went to the front and asked for a chair. The dude managing the line was obviously “inconvenienced” by the request and eventually found us some sh*tty chair. He began to explain to us that I could sit in the chair for the next few hours while B went back to the end of the line which was around the block to hold my spot. A woman working the polls heard what he was saying and was like WTF IS WRONG W/ YOU and proceeded to apologize to us profusely and immediately escorted us to the voting booth.

I think of her every November. 🙏🏼

I love where we live. Feeling so grateful to have nature easily accessible for my little family. The kids love going on hikes and marveling at the itty bitty wonders of nature that many of us would not normally notice. My boy is so good at remembering the obscure names for the bugs & plants we identify with the app.

Thank you for your beauty, Mother Earth. Thank you for helping me to stay still and breathe when I need it most.

This is what a Sunday morning of kids-only watching Daniel 🐯 while parents desperately try to get some more half-asleep shut eye. I guess they know how to open the fridge and fruit drawer!

An apple a day… (or 7?!) 🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎 they were actually kinda tiny, so whatevah. Or as Stella would say, “Whichever” 😂

Glad they didn’t starve cause we were tired! 🥱🥱
