Putnam General Hospital was proud to partner with Interfor Corporation – Eatonton Division at their annual Health Fair on August 13! 🩺💙

Nurse Educator Jessica Swymer and Emergency Department RN Shelby Quinn joined representatives from Interfor and the Putnam County Health Department to provide health screenings and education for employees working both day and night shifts.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, our team provided blood pressure screenings and BMI calculations for approximately 45 employees, along with education on healthy eating and lifestyle choices, diabetes, and the importance of establishing care with a primary care provider.

We also shared information about local primary care and specialty services to help connect employees with healthcare resources right here in our community.

We are grateful for opportunities like this that allow us to take healthcare beyond the walls of the hospital and into our community. Thank you to Interfor for inviting us and to our community partners for helping us support the hardworking employees of the Eatonton mill! 💙

❤️ Nationally Recognized Heart Care, Right Here at Home

Putnam General Hospital is proud to receive the 2026 American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® – Coronary Artery Disease Rural Silver recognition!

This recognition reflects our team’s commitment to providing timely, research-based care for patients experiencing acute coronary syndrome and following nationally recognized guidelines for heart attack care.

For our patients and community, it means access to high-quality heart care close to home. We are incredibly proud of the physicians, nurses, EMS partners and staff whose dedication makes this level of care possible every day.

Thank you, BankSouth! ❤️

Putnam General Hospital is incredibly grateful to BankSouth for its generous $25,000 donation through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program!

This contribution will help support our investment in the new Hydros Robotic System, the latest generation of technology for Aquablation therapy. This advanced system will allow us to continue expanding urology services and bringing innovative treatment options closer to home for patients in Putnam County and the surrounding communities.

Partnerships like this make a meaningful difference in rural healthcare. We are thankful to BankSouth for investing in our hospital, our patients, and the health of our community.

Thank you, BankSouth, for helping us bring advanced care closer to home!

👶 Continuing to Learn. Ready to Care. 💙

Members of Putnam General Hospital’s Emergency Department recently completed the STABLE Foundation Course, an evidence-based neonatal education program focused on the care and stabilization of critically ill newborns following initial resuscitation and before transfer to a higher level of care.

STABLE focuses on six key areas of newborn care: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support. The training also emphasizes critical thinking, teamwork, and communication during those important first moments of care.

Congratulations to our Emergency Department team members who successfully completed the course:

• Rachel Thompson
• Erin Garland
• Shelby Quinn
• Jeff Reaves

A special thank you to Carla Morton, Neonatal Outreach and Developmental Coordinator with Atrium Health Navicent, for providing this valuable training to our team.

We are proud of our staff for continuing to strengthen their skills and knowledge so they are prepared to care for our community’s smallest patients when they need us most. 💙

🐾 Paws Across Putnam Makes a Difference! 🐾

In July, Putnam General Hospital's Fun Force and PGH Helping Hands (our employee giving fund) teamed up for Paws Across Putnam, an employee donation drive benefiting the Putnam County Animal Shelter.

Thanks to the generosity of our employees, we were able to donate pet food, treats, toys, cleaning supplies, and other much-needed items. In addition to the supplies, PGH Helping Hands also made a monetary donation to help support the shelter and the animals in its care.

We are incredibly proud of our employees for always finding ways to give back and make a positive impact in our community, whether it's caring for people or helping our four-legged friends.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make Paws Across Putnam such a success! ❤️🐶🐱

As students, teachers, and school staff head back to the classroom, the employees of Putnam General Hospital gathered this morning to pray over the new school year.

We prayed for God's protection, wisdom, peace, and blessings over every student, teacher, administrator, bus driver, cafeteria worker, parent, grandparent, and every school in our community.

We wanted to share that prayer with you in hopes that you'll join us in lifting up our children and those who care for them as they begin a new school year.
