We’re packing up the ritual goods and heading to Virginia this Sunday for Hearth and Hallow Collective Night Market in Pamplin. 🕯️

And yes—our beautiful new vending tent sign is coming with us. 🥹 Seeing Black Moon Ritualcraft becoming something you can actually walk up to, wander through, touch, smell, and experience feels a little surreal after everything it took to get here.

We’ll be bringing some of our latest drops + spooky season favorites, including seasonal scented candles, ritual goods, darkly beautiful home decor, and adornment from the Lunarpunk Atelier collection. ✨

🖤 In Loving Memory of Elara 🖤

This is not an announcement we ever imagined possible and the most difficult we have had to make. It is with shattered hearts that we share the loss of our beloved Elara. 😞

Late Sunday night, we observed sudden neurological changes in Elara and immediately transported her to a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital for evaluation and care. Despite the team’s best efforts and immediate intervention, we were faced with devastating news regarding the severity of her condition and prognosis.

Surrounded by love, and to prevent further suffering, we made the impossible and compassionate decision to let her go and be at peace.

There are no words adequate for this loss.

Elara was deeply loved and profoundly cherished during her time with us. Though she was only here for a short time, she brought immense joy, hope, connection, and light into our sanctuary family and community.

We are grieving not only her loss, but the future we had begun to imagine with her—a future of growth, education, companionship, and advocacy within the sanctuary and beyond.

At this time, we ask for grace, privacy, and understanding as we navigate this devastating loss. Please know we are deeply grateful for your outpouring of love, support, and compassion, even if we are unable to respond to all your thoughtful messages at the moment. Knowing you are with us in this moment is a comfort.

One of the hardest realities of sanctuary and rescue work is that the animals in our care still depend on us, even when our hearts are shattered. Black Moon Wild Canid Sanctuary remains responsible for the daily care of 26 canids who require food, medical care, enrichment, safety, and love every day.

We are showing up for them the best we can while carrying an unimaginable loss. Mētztli and Jackson are mourning more than a sanctuary rescue or resident, but their beloved baby girl.

Thank you for loving Elara. Thank you for holding space for our grief. And thank you for helping us continue the work of care that she became a part of, however briefly.

Run free, sweet girl. Forever loved. Forever our baby girl.

This Ta**us New Moon conjunct Algol feels deeply personal. 🌚🐍⚔️

Algol is often associated with sacred rage, survival, demonization, and what happens when people are pushed beyond what the body and spirit were ever meant to endure.

I’ve felt this transit in real time.

The last several years have demanded survival from me in ways I never could have imagined — financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually. And like many people living through prolonged crisis, trauma, burnout, illness, grief, and impossible pressure, I’ve also experienced the cruelty of being expected to continue producing, creating, performing, and delivering as though survival itself wasn’t already consuming everything.

This carousel is not just astrology.
It’s lived experience.

I know many of you are feeling this too. 👁️

This New Moon is exposing the exhaustion, grief, anger, and truth living underneath survival mode — especially for those who have been shamed for not “thriving” or “delivering” while carrying unbearable weight.

Some rage is sacred.
Some rage is the body refusing further abandonment.

I will no longer internalize shame or self-punish for surviving what I’ve been forced to endure, or accept the belief that my worth depends on output under survival conditions.🗡️🪬

Impatient Becky’s and Karen’s: get wrecked, disrespectfully. Your self-centering impatience is not without its supremacy politics. Go fight the system, not the people it is crushing and destroying.🖕🏽🔥

I needed a wheelchair for YEARS before I could admit it.

Not because I didn’t need it bad enough—
but because I thought it meant I was failing.

The truth?
I’ve always believed mobility aids meant freedom.
Just not for me.

That’s what internalized ableism looks like.

Now I can walk with my wolfdogs again.
I can exist without calculating my pain every second.

I’m still banishing my ableism.

But if you’ve been resisting the support you need—
you’re allowed to take it. 🖤
