October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to stand with survivors, honor those whose lives have been lost, and remind our community that everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home and relationships.

Domestic violence isn’t always physical. It can include emotional abuse, threats, intimidation, financial control, and isolation. Sometimes the signs aren’t visible, but the impact is very real.

At the Edmonds Police Department, we want our community to know that help is available, support matters, and no one should have to face abuse alone.

💜 To survivors: You deserve safety, dignity, and respect.

💜 To friends and family: Listen without judgment. Believe, support, and help connect loved ones with resources.

💜 To our community: Awareness is important, but compassion and action can make a difference.

Join Us in Thailand to Experience SSFA

Ready to see your support in action? You can join us for 12 days to see SSFA, Bangkok, and the beaches of southern Thailand.

It's affordable, including all flights and hotels for $4000. We can also help with fundraising - we will build you your own webpage to share with friends and family. And, 75% of your travel cost is tax-deductible!

TWO Thailand Trips Upcoming!
We're currently planning two ~12-day hosted trips:
March 18–29, 2027
*July 26–August 7, 2027

The trips will include time volunteering at Shared Space For All, as well as visiting the city of Bangkok and experiencing Thailand's beautiful beaches. There will also be opportunities for optional adventures like elephant experiences, snorkeling, hiking, golf, zip lining, historical sites, markets, and more.

The heart of these trips is being present—hanging out with the SSFA kids and staff, visiting the village, sharing meals, experiencing Thai culture, and seeing firsthand the work you've helped make possible.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

The Lynnwood Police Department is proud to support and empower women in our community through our free Women Empowered jiu jitsu based self-defense classes.

Whether you’ve taken a self-defense class before or this is your first time, we welcome you to join us. Come learn in a supportive, encouraging environment, meet other women in our community, and gain practical skills that can help build confidence and awareness.

Throughout October, we’ll also be collecting new, unopened toiletry items at our class location to donate to a local domestic violence shelter. If you’re able, bring an item with you and help us show support to women and families in our community who may need it most.

You don’t have to come with experience. You don’t have to come alone. Just come as you are, we’d love to have you with us.💜
