Form and function go hand in hand. 🌱
Healthy facial growth is supported by healthy function. I see so much growth in my patients even in a few months.😍😍

A child’s face doesn’t develop in isolation from the way they breathe, rest their tongue, use their lips, chew, and swallow.

When we see patterns such as:
• Chronic mouth breathing
• Open-mouth posture
• A low resting tongue
• Poor lip seal
• Tongue thrust
• Dysfunctional chewing or swallowing

Myofunctional therapy works to establish healthier patterns of:

👃 Nasal breathing
👄 Comfortable lip seal
👅 Tongue resting on the palate
🥤 Functional swallowing
💪 Balanced orofacial muscle function

Because when it comes to the growing face, form and function are deeply connected.

One of the best days ever!! There was so much YES!! I feel so blessed to have been a guest at Dr. Perio’s office in Issaquah with Dr. Zaghi and these amazing people😍😍. I feel so lucky to be there to watch my patient getting released, but we wanted to respect her privacy, so I got a quick picture at the end of the procedure. It was a beautiful release😍 I loved learning and always growing with this amazing community!! Thank you for having me!🫶🏻

When one part of this system isn’t functioning well, the effects can be felt throughout the body.

For example:
👅 A tongue that rests low in the mouth may influence head and neck posture.
🌬️ Poor diaphragm function can change breathing patterns and core stability.
🦶 Limited foot mobility can alter pelvic alignment and movement higher up the chain.

This is why in myofunctional therapy we don’t just look at the tongue—we look at the whole person.

Healthy function involves:
• Nasal breathing
• A tongue resting on the palate
• Balanced posture
• Efficient swallowing
• Coordinated movement from the feet to the jaw

The body is remarkably interconnected. Addressing the root cause often means looking beyond the area where symptoms appear.
