Founded by Kayla McCoy, APP, a Eureka, Kansas native, AWS grew from her early experience caring for patients with wounds at GWCH in Eureka. She saw firsthand the need for specialized wound care that was accessible, personal, and centered around the individual patient.

Please join us in welcoming our newest provider, Angela Azzarito, APRN, FNP-BC, to the Advanced Wound Specialists team!

Angela brings a wealth of clinical expertise and a deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, she spent many years as an ICU nurse, where she developed extensive experience caring for critically ill patients and managing complex medical conditions. As an APRN, she has continued to broaden her clinical skills through practice in both rural healthcare settings and neurosurgical patients.

Angela will be caring for our Northwest Kansas region, providing advanced wound care services throughout Moundridge and the surrounding communities. She will care for patients in their homes as well as in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, ensuring expert wound care is accessible wherever it is needed.

We are excited to welcome Angela to the Advanced Wound Specialists family. Her clinical expertise, compassionate approach, and dedication to serving patients make her an outstanding addition to our team. We look forward to the positive impact she will have on the patients, families, and communities we are privileged to serve.

💚 Never Give Up on Healing. 💚

For 12 years, one of our local patients lived with a chronic wound that simply wouldn't heal.

For over a decade, she endured pain, frustration, limitations, and the emotional weight that comes with feeling like healing may never happen. Simple daily activities became difficult, and life revolved around a wound that had become part of her everyday reality.

When she came to Advanced Wound Specialists, our team took the time to understand her—not just her wound. We developed a treatment plan tailored specifically to her needs and focused on giving her body the best opportunity to heal.

Just two visits later, something she hadn't experienced in 12 years finally happened...

Her wound healed.

Seeing her standing in her kitchen again, doing the things she loves, was incredible. Watching her and her daughter embrace our team with hugs of gratitude is a moment we'll never forget.
