The past few days I’d been getting sucked into the scroll more than usual. Distraction. Dissociation. Just wanting to turn my brain off.

And then last night, as I was trying to sleep, this poured out of me.

If you’re looking for something deeper than another self-help or coaching course, EarthSpeak is for you.

EarthSpeak is not a course or a curriculum to consume and complete. It’s an experiential journey. A living transmission of a language that has been forgotten by many, but not lost.

It lives in Ayurveda, TCM, astrology, tarot, herbalism, and many indigenous cosmologies. Once you learn the language, you find it everywhere: in your body, in the seasons, in your emotions, in the plants.

The internet is full of information. But in EarthSpeak we remember a way of listening.

And the more of us who remember it—who know how to feed ourselves, tend ourselves, read the land, and build sovereign communities—the less power the extractive systems have over us.

The Spring Cohort is underway, and the threshold is open until our second gathering tomorrow, Monday March 30th.

Today would have been Mark's 37th birthday.

Mark and I had been best friends since we were 11 or 12 and on the same swim team. He could make friends with anyone and always knew how to make me smile. When he was on deployments and I was living in Ireland or Scotland, we would stay on the phone or Skype for hours — desperate for a familiar voice, a familiar face when we were so far from home. Before his first deployment, he told me: "You're always the first and the last person I can call. The first because you always know the right thing to say, and the last because I know that even if I didn't have anyone else, you'd still be there."

How I wish he called me that night.

Mark died by su***de four days after his birthday in 2016. This year will be 10 years without him.

I had already chosen this line of work and was already working in the VA when he passed. I chose a path of healership because I felt so alone in my underworld journeys, and I didn't want anyone I knew to have to go through it alone if I could help it. Mark knew this. We often held the light for each other in the dark.

Mark's death sharpened my purpose. It made it visceral. In my grief, I committed to learning to hold a lantern for those in the darkest places. I pursued every training I could. I started two Su***de Prevention Groups. I educated other VA clinicians not just on what to ask, but how.

I know he is beside me, supporting me each time I have the privilege of supporting another client or veteran navigate their underworld journey.

We weren't made for this.

The fluorescent hum of offices that never close. The ingredients we can't pronounce. The scrolling that mimics connection but delivers only more distance.

Our brains know it. Our bodies have been saying it for years.
We were just taught to be quiet about it.

There's a pill for that.
There's an app for that.
There's a product you don’t actually need for that.

The system is rigged, and I think you already know it. Insurance companies post record profits while care becomes more inaccessible, more bureaucratic, more hollow. I’m over it—and I’m doing something about it.
