Then we wonder why people are struggling. I was on the phone for 30 minutes before I had to go.

What if the problem isn’t that you’re lazy or unmotivated, but that your brain is carrying a lot more than you realize?

Mental exhaustion doesn’t always come from doing too much physically. Sometimes it’s the constant thinking, planning, decision making, and managing everything happening in your head.

And when your brain is overloaded, even the simplest tasks can start to feel overwhelming.

In season 5, Episode 1 of the Ariza Inspire Podcast, we are breaking down why your brain feels exhausted and how you can help it.

Listen now wherever you get your podcasts!

I really do wish I had a magic wand 🤣🤣

Burnout hits differently when it feels personal and invisible. For many, especially eldest daughters, the pressure to be everything means never stopping.

It’s crunch time 😬 Getting season 5 ready to go and working on my next workbook launch while speaking and momming is a lot. Oh yeah, I also have sessions scheduled 🤣

“I’m stressed.” “I’m overwhelmed.” “I’m frustrated.”

We say these things all the time, but how often do we stop to figure out what’s actually underneath those feelings?

Sometimes what we’re calling stress is disappointment. What we’re calling frustration is hurt. And what we’re calling irritability might actually be exhaustion.

Understanding what you’re feeling matters because different emotions may require different responses.

So before you jump into trying to fix how you feel, take a moment to check in:

👉 What am I actually feeling?
👉 What’s contributing to this feeling?
👉 What do I need right now?

An emotional check-in doesn’t have to take long, but it can help you respond to what you need instead of just reacting to how you feel.

This is one of the practical exercises inside The Mental Health Toolkit Workbook, designed to help you turn mental health knowledge into tools you can use in everyday life.

Just because your brain came up with an explanation doesn’t mean it’s a fact.

Someone doesn’t respond to your text, and suddenly you’re convinced they’re upset with you. But is that what actually happened, or is that the story your brain created to fill in the blanks?

Our brains are constantly trying to make sense of things, especially when we don’t have all the information. The problem? We sometimes react to our assumptions as though they’re facts.

The next time you catch yourself jumping to conclusions, ask yourself:

👉 What do I actually know?
👉 What am I assuming?

Separating facts from stories is one of the exercises inside The Mental Health Toolkit Workbook, designed to help you recognize your thinking patterns and put practical mental health tools to work.

Not every relationship affects us the same way. Some leave us feeling supported, understood, and connected. Others leave us feeling drained, anxious, or like we can’t fully be ourselves.

But how often do we actually stop to evaluate the relationships in our lives?

A Relationship Inventory helps you look beyond who is in your life and start paying attention to how those relationships impact your mental health.

And no, this isn’t about labeling people as good or bad. It’s about recognizing patterns, understanding your needs, and identifying where healthier boundaries or more intentional connection might be needed.

🧰 This is just ONE of the practical exercises inside The Mental Health Toolkit Workbook, where we take the concepts discussed on the Ariza Inspire Podcast and turn them into tools you can actually use.

Resting doesn’t always mean you’re recovering.

You can get a full night’s sleep, take a day off, or spend the weekend doing absolutely nothing and still feel completely drained.

That’s because emotional burnout isn’t just about physical exhaustion. Sometimes, what needs attention isn’t how much rest you’re getting, but what’s continuing to drain you.

In The Ariza Inspire Podcast, we break down Emotional Burnout: Why Rest Alone Isn’t Enough and explore what’s actually happening beneath the exhaustion.

🎧 Watch the full episode on YouTube and learn why recovery may require more than just rest!

Mental overload doesn’t always look like having too much to do. Sometimes it looks like forgetting simple things, struggling with decisions, or feeling irritated by things that normally wouldn’t bother you.

Our brains have limits when it comes to processing and managing information. And when we’re constantly asking them to do more, even everyday tasks can start feeling harder.

Recognize any of these signs?

I’ve broken down the science of cognitive load and what you can actually do about it in the latest Ariza Inspire blog.
