Ohhh, let's talk about it! Do I work on people under 18 years old? I've been asked this quite a lot recently, and the answer is yes! Just like at a doctor's office, a parent or guardian must remain in the room with the minor for the whole treatment and sign the paperwork on behalf of the minor.

What kind of treatment is recommended?

Well, that depends on the reason for the treatment. I always go for the most clothing-friendly options. I usually recommend young people start with no more than a 30-minute session. An hour to a kid can feel stupid long.

One treatment I use a lot, especially on student athletes, is the Lower Body Stretching. I like it because all clothes stay on and it really targets the hips and glutes- major stabilizers for the body. Regular stretching can help improve conditioning and performance, and reduce the risk of serious injury to an athlete.

My child isn't an athlete. Would massage still work for them?

Yes! Massage is beneficial for almost every body, no matter the age of that body. With additional screen time forced into life with the education system and social norms, bodies of all ages are getting sore quicker than ever before.

What are the benefits of massage for my child?

Same as they are for you, friend.
•calmer nervous systems
•better sleep
•improved range of motion
•reduced aches and pains

What are the differences between the adult treatments and the treatments for minors?

The biggest difference is the amount of pressure I start with. Adults can usually take more pressure in the beginning, but I still watch body language and breathing of every client, no matter the age. I also check in with minor clients more often because sometimes kids don't know what to expect or that they are allowed to have an opinion in what is happening. Consent to touch is everything in this business, with every client, every time.

How do I book a treatment for my child?

The exact same way: KineticTouchRestorativeMassage.ClinicSense.com
Fill out the forms for your child and at the consent portion, type your electronic signature in the box.

I was so excited for massage school to start!

And then I was so excited for massage school to be over! 🤣🤣🤣

Who knew 15 friggin years ago that I'd be here now? I certainly didn't. Some people have asked me what made me want to be a massage therapist? The answer is: I didn't. Not really. I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to teach algebra.

So then why go to school for massage? Well, when I was a senior in high school, my dad told me I had to go to school or get a job, and ya girl didn't want to work 🤭🤣 so I did a Google search on schools near me. I knew I wasn't ready (or maybe wasn't built) for a traditional 4-year school. I was looking for a program that I was mildly interested in that would buy me some time with my old man 🙃🙃 YTI Career Institute came up with a program in Massage Therapy.

My mom and my best friend's mom would often have me rub their feet. I was good enough at it and enjoyed it well enough so I was like "let's give this a shot."

I actually liked the program a lot. I learned a lot. I made some friends. And as it turned out, I was pretty good at it. When the clinical part came around and I started working on people who weren't my classmates, I really enjoyed it. Clients weren't able to "request" any certain students, but if there was a preference, it would be attempted to fit them into a certain student's schedule, and I had a few clients with a preference. That felt pretty awesome out the gate.

I breezed through my licensing exam in July of 2011. I was barely even nervous because something in me felt proud of the work I was doing. After school, I worked in a spa for about a year, and then put massage away for a while as I worked a "real job" at a dairy manufacturing plant. A couple years into that and I felt the pull. I opened my own business in Chambersburg in 2016 and worked at it while working full time and going back to school for a business degree (that I did not finish, sadly).

I closed that business in 2021. I was having a baby and moved to Everett to have a family. I got another big girl job. It was hard on my daughter to be at daycare so often, she was having problems with biting other kids... A lot. So I decided to go part time. About a year into that, the pull started again.

In August 2024, I opened my business again at Black Valley Barbell. I was scared. I didn't know anyone. I didn't have connections or a network. Nobody knew who I was, either. But I wanted this time to be different. My goal with this business was to help people. That was it. I just wanted to give back to my community.

And the impact it has made on my life is absolutely tremendous. I have the best clients. I tell myself and others that all the time. And every time I say it, it proves itself to be more and more true.

The work I do is effective. People tell me I give them their lives back. My work, my hands, my knowledge... Changes lives. 🤯🤯🤯

I get to take my dog to work with me every day! And people love him, too!

I am so grateful for that search result popping up on our desktop computer 16 years ago. I absolutely love what I do. I love living and working in Everett. I love my clients. I love learning something every day.

Maybe you're seeing this because you're getting nudged to try something, too. You're tired of living life the same way every day. The same aches and pains. The same OTC pain relief ritual. The same patterns of headaches. I understand, and I can help.

KineticTouchRestorativeMassage.ClinicSense.com is the easiest way to get scheduled. You can always contact me with your questions or concerns before booking.

Almost any massage therapist can help you feel better; maybe even for a couple days. I'm not knocking anyone's craft because we are out here doing The Work™️, collectively.

But stuff like this... This is what makes my craft different. I spent the whole hour working on her one shoulder- slower techniques, really listening to the tissue- with the goal to improve her quality of life stuck in my mind while I was working.

"More Movement. Less Pain. Better Life." is not just my slogan. It is what I literally work towards with every single client on my table.

If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, you gotta try my massage. It's not just lotion being rubbed on your skin. It's real work. With real results. The kind that last. I'm dropping the link for you to book:

You’ve been seeing my posts. Maybe you even follow my page. Maybe you’ve tried massage therapy before, but it “didn’t work”. Maybe you have a pre-existing condition, and you don’t know if you can even get a massage.

Or maybe you feel apprehensive. Maybe you’re never had massage before you don’t know what to expect. The unknown can be scary. Spending your hard-earned dollar on something you’re unsure about can feel like a gamble. Booking time with a complete stranger feels big or makes you anxious. Not everyone feels okay with taking those kinds of risks.

I run this practice myself. Every interaction with my content is interaction with me. Allow me to help settle some of those awkward feelings you may be experiencing.

Firstly, I have been doing massage therapy for going on 15 years. I have a ton of methods in my toolbox that, unless your condition is completely contraindicated, there is probably a way I can help you. If I’m unsure about your condition, I will do research. I am part of a HUGE network of other therapists online that are more than willing to share their knowledge. If I question my ability to help you, I will honestly tell you. You are not just income to me. You are not just a number in my practice. You are a human being, and I strive to always treat you as such.

Second, talking to me is free. Send me a message here. Give me a call. Comment on a post. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I will treat you with the same kindness and respect as an established client, even if you never ever book a treatment with me. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible when you come to see me for the first time.

You are a busy person with a whole life you get to live every single day. It is such an honor to get some of your time. It’s an even bigger privilege for you to allow me to share your energy on my table. My goal for every session is helping you to feel better, helping you to feel seen and heard, and doing the best I can to make you feel comfortable while you spend your time with me.

KineticTouchRestorativeMassage.ClinicSense.com is where you can go to book, when you're ready.

"Do you accept tips?"

Let's talk about this real quick. Short answer, yes. Long answer, I price my services so that I don't have to rely on tips but I always appreciate them.

"How much should I tip you?"

Whatever you feel in your heart. I've gotten anywhere from $5-$50 as a tip. And honestly, your tip doesn't change your service. My favorite tips aren't even money. I was given a loaf of homemade sourdough one time 😋 Dog treats are an awesome tip (just ask Hercules). And honestly these are my two favorite tips: when you tell your friends or share my posts, and when you rebook at the end of your session or start a standing appointment!

Money is important, as we all know in this increasingly tougher economy. The most important thing for me though? YOU. The one who comes in feeling crappy and leaves with more freedom to move in your body. The one who smiles walking out the door. The one who unloads their day/week on my table because they don't have anywhere else to sit it down. The one who tells me about their kids, grandkids, dogs, cats, horses, etc. YOU. The one who sits in silence because for once they have some peace and quiet without anyone asking anything else of them but to just be a breathing human being.

I'm so thankful for all the people who have trusted me to help them and look forward to the people who will come and and give me the chance to do so as well.
