🍂 Welcome, Autumn.

As the fall equinox brings light and darkness into balance, may we pause to notice what this season holds: gratitude for what has grown, tenderness for what has been difficult, and space for what comes next.

Let the changing leaves remind us that there is beauty in transition.

May your autumn hold nourishing meals, unhurried walks, deep breaths, and the warmth of people who help you feel at home.

And as the days grow shorter, may you give yourself permission to rest—to gather your energy, listen inward, and move at a pace that leaves room for joy.

Wishing you a peaceful fall equinox and a season of feeling nourished, connected, and lots of pumpkin spice. 🧡

What snacks do you keep on hand for your student? I am going to try making up some protein drinks in advance, as well as some of these freezer sandwiches. I LOVE keeping colorful veggies and fruit around, ready to go. 🫛 🫑 🍎 🍓 🫐

July is National Blueberry Month, and blueberries are one of my favorite summer foods because they are easy, kid-friendly, and packed with nutrition.
Blueberries contain fiber, vitamin C, and polyphenols — plant compounds that help support overall health. They are also easy to add to meals without much prep.
Try blueberries in:
🫐 Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt
🫐 Oatmeal or overnight oats
🫐 Smoothies
🫐 Salads with nuts and goat cheese
🫐 Gluten-free muffins or pancakes
🫐 Frozen as a cool summer snack
Gentle nutrition tip: pair blueberries with protein or fat — like yogurt, nuts, cottage cheese, chia, or nut butter — to make them more satisfying.
What is your favorite way to eat blueberries?

🥕 Carrots: Nature's Glow-Up Food

Orange vegetables and leafy greens provide beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A.

Adequate beta-carotene intake may help support the skin's defenses against oxidative stress from sunlight.

Find it in:
🧡 Pumpkins and sweet potatoes
🧡 Kale and spinach
🧡 Apricots and cantaloupe

The secret to radiant skin isn't found in a bottle alone—it begins on your plate.

(And yes, keep wearing that SPF!)

☀️ Can You Eat Your Sunscreen?

No food replaces sunscreen, hats, shade, or protective clothing—but certain nutrients help support the skin's natural defenses.

Build your plate with:

🍅 Lycopene (tomatoes, watermelon)
🥕 Beta-carotene (carrots, sweet potatoes)
🍵 Catechins (green tea)
🐟 Omega-3 fats (salmon, walnuts)
🥝 Vitamin C (berries, kiwi, peppers)
🌿 Polyphenols (herbs, spices, colorful produce)

The more colorful your plate, the more antioxidant protection you're likely getting.

Nature gave us a beautiful partnership:
🧴 Sun safety on the outside.
🥗 Nutrition on the inside.

🐟 Healthy Fats for Healthy Skin

Omega-3 fats help maintain the skin barrier and may reduce inflammation triggered by excessive sun exposure.

Include:
🐟 Salmon
🐟 Sardines
🌱 Chia seeds
🌱 Walnuts
🌱 Ground flaxseed

Your skin is made of cells—and those cells need nourishing fats to thrive.

Feed your glow from within.
