I don't know how much you know about the social work licensing process but essentially you earn your Master's Degree, take a big exam and get your 'baby' license or LSW, then you work with supervision for 2 years, take another big exam and then are considered fully licensed or LCSW.

Guys we are almost there!!! My 2 years of supervision will be completed in September! I plan to submit my request to sit for the exam October 1st and schedule it as soon as they approve me!

This is so exciting! This has been such a long journey that has definitely had some growing pains along the way but we're almost there. More exciting still is that I have clarity on what direction I want to take this and I can't wait to share it with you guys!

Hello my awesome friends! I am putting together a resource binder to aid my team in serving our clients. We have clients all over Indiana. Please share your favorite local or statewide resources in the comments. Desperately struggling to find assistance in obtaining and maintaining transportation so bonus points if you know of any programs that help with that!

Let’s talk about fear.

I’ve realized I keep delaying because I want to bring the most polished, prepared version of myself to this space. I care deeply about being mindful of how I influence others, and I want to make sure I’m sharing information with wisdom, integrity, and understanding.

But if I’m honest, sometimes the desire for “just a little more knowledge” becomes a comfortable place to hide instead of stepping out in faith.

The reality is that waiting until I feel fully ready may mean never starting at all.

So this is me choosing faith over fear and obedience over perfection.

Cross Rooted Wellness was placed on my heart for a reason, and I trust that growth, learning, and refinement can happen along the journey—not only before it begins.

Thank you for being here as this community grows. My prayer is that this space encourages deeper roots, intentional living, and wellness that nurtures the whole person.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

✨ A New Season for This Space ✨

Hi everyone — I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself and share what you can expect from this page moving forward.

I’m Cynthia, therapist and founder of Cross Rooted Wellness. This space is being intentionally rebuilt to become a place of healing, growth, encouragement, education, and authentic conversations about mental health, trauma recovery, faith, wellness, and becoming whole.

Here, you can expect:
🌿 Mental health education that is practical and relatable
🌿 Trauma-informed insights and nervous system support
🌿 Encouragement for overwhelmed moms, helpers, and high-achievers
🌿 Faith-based reflections and healing-centered content
🌿 Tools for emotional wellness, boundaries, self-awareness, and resilience
🌿 Updates about services, resources, and upcoming offerings

My hope is that this page becomes more than content — I want it to feel like a safe and empowering community where healing is normalized and growth is possible.

Thank you for being here while I build this vision intentionally. I’m excited for what’s ahead. 💚

Welcome! I am, Cynthia Hansel, LSW, I’m the founder of Cross Rooted Wellness, a client-centered, faith-based practice offering holistic and trauma-informed care. With extensive experience in addiction treatment, as well as supporting individuals managing anxiety, depression, and trauma, I bring clinical expertise, warmth, and a deep sense of purpose to my work.

My professional background includes walking alongside individuals and families affected by substance use and mental health challenges, helping them build resilience, reclaim hope, and move toward lasting healing. I currently offer individual virtual therapy in Indiana and have plans of expanding Cross Rooted Wellness into a full-spectrum wellness practice featuring group therapy, addiction recovery services, community education, and workshops.

Rooted in the belief that deep roots lead to whole healing, my goal is to empower clients to strengthen their emotional, spiritual, and relational foundations—supporting them in living more grounded, authentic, and fulfilling lives.
