When an injury occurs, your body naturally adapts to protect the affected area. While those compensations can help in the short term, they may eventually place additional stress on other parts of the body.

The pain you’re feeling today may actually be your body’s way of compensating for an old injury.

For example, an ankle injury can change the way you walk, which may lead to discomfort in your knee, hip, or even your lower back. That’s why we don’t just look at where it hurts, we evaluate how your entire body is moving.

At Structura Body Therapies, our Myokinetic Therapy and Injury Massage sessions are designed to help improve mobility, reduce tension, and restore healthier movement patterns so your body can recover more efficiently.
Don’t let compensation patterns become your new normal.

Your body isn’t working against you, it adapts to what you ask of it.

Gravity, repetitive movements, sports injuries, long hours at a desk, and everyday stress all influence the way your body moves and holds itself. Over time, these patterns can lead to pain, stiffness, and limited mobility.

That’s where Structural Integration comes in.

Structural Integration is a hands-on therapy that works with your body’s connective tissue, called fascia, to help restore balance, improve alignment, and support healthier movement. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or hoping to improve your posture, Structural Integration can help your body move the way it was designed to.

You don’t have to settle for living with pain.

Spoiler Alert: Your tension headaches may not be coming from where you think they are.

Tension headaches, TMJD, neck pain, shoulder pain, and upper body tightness can all be connected. Finding relief starts by looking at the body as a whole.

At Structura Body Therapies, our Structural Integration and Myokinetic Therapy sessions focus on addressing the root cause of pain, not just the symptoms. That’s why you might come in for neck pain and find us working on your shoulders, jaw, or other areas that contribute to the problem.

Relief is possible when you treat the source, not just the discomfort.

Curious if Structural Integration or Myokinetic Therapy could help you? We offer free consultations so you can learn more and see if this work is right for you.

Including Mobility Therapy in your health journey alongside Structural Integration can make all the difference.

Mobility tools are items such as foam rollers, , BOA bands (RockFloss), silicone cups (RockCups), mobility balls, and yoga straps that can help address minor aches and support better movement.

Mobility Therapy is not meant to replace any form of bodywork, it is designed to complement it. Structural Integration can help relieve pain, improve mobility, and support better posture. Together, they can help you move and feel your best.

Support your lifestyle and your body by meeting with one of our practitioners. Learn how to properly use mobility tools by calling (801) 897-8711 to schedule a session with one of our skilled practitioners.

Structural Integration works to align the fascia of your body to provide pain relief. It can also be used to correct posture, improve range of motion, and bring overall alignment to your body.

According to the University of Washington’s Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Department, back pain is one of the most common health problems in the United States, and 50%-80% of adults have had back pain! That is MOST of us here!

Whether you just tweaked your back or have been dealing with back pain for a while, we know how to provide long-lasting pain relief—even after surgery.

Make your pregnancy pain a little easier to live with!

Steps:
1. Find your roll of RockTape. We need to make 4 strips of tape for the “front sling” and “baby belt” RockTape techniques.
2. Start by measuring the tape to mom’s stomach. The shorter 2 strips should be as long as 2 inches above the public bone to anywhere in the space between the bra and the belly button. Cut the length of these two pieces. These 2 shorter strips will be for the “front sling” technique.
3. Then measure 2 strips for the “baby belt”. Start above the hip, moving under the stomach, then arching up to meet the scapula (shoulder blade). Cut the length of these 2 longer strips and move to step 5.
4. Proceed to round the corners of the tape. Do this will all 4 strips. (This helps the edges not catch on clothes and reduce irritation)
6. Place the two shorter pieces starting 2 inches above the public bone then arching up the belly, spaced away from the belly button. This is the “front sling”.
7. Take the two longer pieces, and apply them as described in step 3. Start above the hip, moving under the belly, angling up to meet the scapula (apply tape beneath bra if necessary).
8. Rub tape vigorously, once applied to skin, to activate adhesive.

This taping technique provides a little extra support and lift as you go about your day.
Your tape should stay for 3-5 days. The best time to remove the tape is in the shower. Remember to remove slowly.
If you find that your tape is in good shape but an edge has lost its adheisive, then trip the edge and lay the tape back down.
