The Tennessee Titans' controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk announced Thursday that former star running back Chris Johnson will be inducted into the franchise’s Ring of Honor on Sept. 13, when the team opens its regular season against the New York Jets:

"Chris Johnson holds a special place in the hearts of our organization and our fans. His stats speak for themselves, and he will forever remain a leader in our record books, but the man behind the yardage deserves just as much celebration. We look forward to welcoming him home on Sept. 13 and officially inducting him into the Titans Ring of Honor."

While getting my hair braided today, my braider crowned me Chief Streaming Officer — the one who picks what we watch for the next hour and a half. It's like being the DJ at the party: read the room right, or you'll get a flat "what is it," watch everyone reach for their AirPods, and sit in silence. Scrolling Peacock half-blind, I landed on KILL BILL VOL. 2 — the cult classic that changed cinema forever.

My girl had never seen it, so I called it a caricature of martial arts movies — revenge quest, sub-bosses, the obligatory one-vs-a-hundred fight scene. My braider topped that without looking up: "That's not a caricature. That's human anime." Mind blown. So I started thinking — are WE human anime? We're all the protagonist of our own story; some days are filler, some are the fight scene. The real question is what you do when you get punked in the mouth: stay down, or stand your ground. Shoutout to my hairstylist. Human Anime for the win.
