Hey y’all! Freedom Finder is looking for volunteers to work a fireworks stand. The proceeds from the stand will go directly to help survivors of domestic violence and trafficking get to safety, access resources and provide ongoing support. There are various shifts for volunteers to take and those who are needing volunteer hours can get them through this. If you’re interested comment below and I can give you the contact info and/or there is also contact info on the graphic. 🤍

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing and wonderful moms, especially the ones I get the opportunity to work with. I know for many of those having to navigate the family court system, today can be a day full of complex emotions. I hope there are able to be moments full of joy and love today. To any of the moms on an endless fight for their children in the court system, I see you, I hear you and I am so proud of you for never giving up on trying to keep those babies safe.

I am honored every single day to hear their stories and to continue trying to be a voice for every single survivor who hasn’t been able to have one. 🤍

In honor of March being Social Work month, I wanted to share my thoughts about social work and why I love what I do. Quite honestly prior to 2019, I had no idea what social work was and it wasn’t until a situation happened with a family member that I decided to go back to school to help those in a similar situation… well it just so happened that social work was the way to do that. Then fast forward to 2021 when I was interviewing for my internship placement for my advanced year with a domestic violence shelter… something I really had no idea about. Fast forward to 2026 and I am a private practice owner who specializes in working with survivors of domestic violence, I’m helping to put on educational events about domestic violence education, I went out on a whim contacting a world renowned therapist and now I’m helping plan how to make it happen and most recently, I’m now on the board of Freedom Finder. I always thought I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, but turns out I grew up to be someone younger me never even knew was possible. This journey hasn’t been easy, pretty or perfect, but being a social worker HAS given me some of the most incredible knowledge, experience, education and opportunities I never even knew existed. One of the best parts about being a social worker is I can do micro social work with therapy and mezzo/macro work with the education and advocacy efforts. There aren’t many paths that allow someone to have what seems like at times 5 different jobs. And the cherry on top is now my political science brain and social work heart can work together to try to create ACTUAL systemic change. I don’t know if it’ll happen this year, in the next 5 years or even in my lifetime, but continuing to use my knowledge and expertise to be a voice for those who may otherwise not have one is well worth the attempt. Social work isn’t just a career, it’s a mindset, a way of living and it’s who I am at the core. Here’s to all the social workers out there, I know we don’t do this work to be recognized but just know, I see you, I hear you and I’m SO proud of you.

(And a huge thank you to Portraits by Jenn for believing in the work I do and gave me the opportunity to get some incredible professional headshots.)

Hey y’all!!! I wanted to remind everyone that TOMORROW Thursday, February 19th from 6-8 pm at Centerton City Courthouse, 220 Municpal Dr. Centerton, AR 72719, is the next FREE multidisciplinary workshop around violence and abuse. Throughout 2026, these monthly panels will center around the ins and outs of domestic violence education and advocacy. This one will focus on the ins and outs of the dynamics of the Power and Control Wheel. There will be some raffle prizes along with small snacks/drinks. The panel consists therapists, advocates, law enforcement, and more. This might be one of the most important workshops, in my opinion, because it allows for the myths about domestic violence and abuse to be debunked. The reality is, domestic violence is more than physical violence and our hope with these panels is to change how society looks at and handles survivors of domestic violence. 🤍

Ever wonder what your therapist does on random days off? Well this therapist took a trek through caves to find a Survivor Immunity Idol. 🤪 For those that don’t know, I’m a die hard fan & when I found out they were doing a hidden idol in all 50 states, I HAD to be there. Took my daughter since she was out of school and we found it. 🤗 *I have hidden my daughter’s face for privacy*
