James does the heavy duty stuff and I do this!! My forte 🩷

I picked this sun bleached sage green, and doubled sanded to give it that extra wear and tear, rustic vintage look! I can’t wait to put this potting bench to use! Something we’ve started as a family is writing a bible verse on all our pieces before it’s sealed. My husband picks the verses. The irony behind this verse is that I never spoke to him about the plans for the garden name but the name of my garden is a mother’s blessing. This verse symbolizes the meaning of that name soooo much.

Cleared out all their seeds! Grabbed all these seeds for $1.60 😳 I was so excited I couldn’t even park straight.

Before anyone says anything once an items rings up as a penny the store has to junk the remaining items! The lady told me last year she threw away over 1k in seeds. So I’d rather take them and hand them out and know they will be used by myself and others than to see them in the landfill.

There’s a first time for everyone and everything…
Today was a first for me… story time.

When I first told my husband my dreams of owning a farm, producing livestock and farm goods. He looked at me and said… BAE… you know you’re going to have to either process or sell what you don’t want right! I said YEP! I can do it! ** We both did not grow up in this life style…

Smh he just looked at me a shook his head, because. Anyone! That knows me knows… I cry when I accidentally hit a bird.

So fast forward to 3 years later… here we are building and living out this dream. My first time comes… it’s here it’s time to either process or pass to another loving family; 🫪 GULP. I can’t process… so to another family it is.

After weeks of stalling I building up the courage to make the post. I DID IT! Not thinking anything of it. Secretly hoping he doesn’t sell… 🤞🏾 he sold in less than a few hours at that. While most ranchers/farmers would be HAPPY!!!! I contemplated upping the price to make him less desirable 🤣🤣but I stick to my word.

So there you have it basil has gone to his new home where he will help make LOTS! Of new Boer babies for his homestead. But man… as soon as they pulled off. I CRIED AND CRIED. They say it takes heart: and heart it does. My husband was right… 🙄 and he knew his wife all along. I’m not sure if this will ever get easier and I guess it’s a good thing, having the love, passion, compassion and care that I do ensures we’re producing quality animals and great care while they are here on our farm. BUT MAN. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little sad.

Homestead Quality, handled daily, beautiful color, great temperament. He would make a great backyard Billy, he eats from you hand, follows you around and comes when callers gentle with children, chicks, and horses.

Rating: 89 has amazing qualities and genetic traits, absolutely gorgeous, we have focused on specific genetic traits that we like to see produced from our Boers, and unfortunately he does not meet those standards.

Breeding Classifications

Elite Breeding Quality (95–100)

Exceptional animal that closely meet the breed standard and become the foundation of our breeding program.

Breeding Quality (90–94)

Excellent animal with strong genetics that help improve future generations.

Homestead Quality (80–89)

Healthy, beautiful animals that may have minor imperfections but still make wonderful additions to backyards

Pet Quality (Below 80)

Healthy companion animal with faults that keep them from our breeding program. They make wonderful pets and backyard animals but are not selected to pass on their genetics.

This week’s feature is…. KEY HANGERS.

Prized for its lightweight design, and durability. We use our large design in our garage to hang our sun hats, work aprons, hold junk mail and a few potted plants. The shorter design next to it is our small, better suited for indoor spaces.
