As industrial environments undergo rapid changes from electrification and automation, sealing requirements become more demanding. Faster, more dynamic systems make it difficult to contain fluids safely.

To meet these modern demands, we improved the performance of our engineered sealing solutions at our Bridgwater facility. We operate a highly advanced, fully automated production system called the PAL-line.

This state-of-the-art line combines multiple manufacturing stages like material handling, component assembly, forming, in-line inspection, final finishing and packing into a seamless process. The system delivers exceptional consistency, precise traceability and top-quality performance for high-volume applications.

The PAL-line's flexibility also supports rapid adaptation to new materials, geometries and tighter tolerances. This ensures we can meet emerging needs in electrification, sustainability and advanced system integration.

Port Cartier, Quebec, Canada, operates in harsh, icy conditions, placing high demands on berthing infrastructure. With legacy fender systems in place, there was a need for a solution that could deliver reliable performance, durability, and safety over time while minimizing disruption during the upgrade.

A multi-berth fender system upgrade was carried out under these conditions, with each berth requiring a solution that could integrate with the existing structure and meet site-specific performance requirements. Trelleborg delivered a site-specific fendering solution engineered to align with both the operational and environmental needs of the port.

Our Bridgwater facility delivers complete solutions, not just standalone products. We have impressive production capabilities spanning a wide range of sizes, engineering seal profiles from three millimeters up to three meters in diameter.

Our team recently helped introduce liquid hydrogen sealing technology, opening a new market and showing our role in driving future developments.

Through close collaboration with partners, we ensure quality, reliability and continuous improvement. This approach allows us to use innovative materials and stay at the forefront of modern development. We also hold weekly meetings with customers to incorporate their feedback quickly.
