Leroy “Lee” Jahnke Our dad, Lee, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Lee was born in Watertown on March 20, 1939 to Erwin and Margaret (Ullerich) Jahnke. He graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1957 and UW-Whitewater in 1962. On August 25, 1962 Lee married Mary Feiter and together they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Mary preceded Lee in death in 2014.

After graduating from UW-Whitewater Lee was employed as an accountant for the State of Wisconsin and as a treasurer of the Village of Monona. In 1965 he became the first Chief Financial Officer at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. He served in that capacity until 1980. During his tenure at the hospital he was very active in the state chapter of hospital financial managers (HFMA) having served as president in 1979.

In 1980 he left the healthcare field and started his own accounting firm - Business and Tax Systems. From sole ownership the firm has grown to four partners and as many as ten employees. Although he was no longer involved with the ownership of the firm he continued working there on a very part-time basis for many years.

Lee has always been actively involved in the community. He held the office of treasurer of Koshkonong Mounds Country Club for many years. He served as treasurer for a number of organizations throughout his career including the Fort Chamber of Commerce, Fort Healthcare Partners and the Fort Atkinson Club. He also has been a member of the Fort Lions Club for over 50 years serving as its president in 1975 and having received its highest award (Melvin Jones Fellowship) in 1996.

Lee enjoyed and actively participated in sports and also became an avid reader during his retirement years. He loved watching the Milwaukee Brewers. He was very proud of his 6 grandsons and cherished the time he spent with them.

Lee is survived by his children: Steve (Anne) Jahnke, Kris (Mark) LeCaptain, Dave (Sharon) Jahnke. Six grandsons; Scott (Nicole) Jahnke, Eric Jahnke, Nick LeCaptain, Derik LeCaptain, Trey (Isabelle) Jahnke and Ty Jahnke. He is also survived by his two brothers, Ron (Marlene) Jahnke and Russ (Cherie) Jahnke. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy (Nelson) Van Gundy.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, June 26th, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Avenue, Fort Atkinson. A memorial service celebrating Lee’s life will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rainbow Hospice (Johnson Creek), for the compassionate care, support, and kindness they provided to Lee and our family during his final months. Their dedication helped make it possible for Dad to remain fiercely independent and comfortable while remaining in his home, surrounded by those he loved.

Matthew James Workman, Sr., 56, of Cambridge, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026.

Matthew was born on June 12, 1969, in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Thomas and Sharon Lee (nee Badeau) Workman. Matthew graduated from Adison High School. After High School Matthew attended and graduated from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology. Matthew took pride in all his work, working as a certified welder. He worked for Franklin Fueling and currently worked at WisPak.

Matthew and Dinah “Lynn” met at a young age as good friends and later reconnected in life in Andrews, Indiana. On February 17, 2023, they were reunited in marriage.

Matthew enjoyed grilling, watching football, and was an avid Packer and Badger fan. He was an animal lover, and bigfoot. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those Matthew leaves behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Dinah Workman; his son Matthew (Blerta) Workman, Jr.; his parents, Thomas and Sharon Workman; his two siblings, Thomas Workman and Tracy Workman; four step kids, Crystal Ramirez, Joshua Guntle, Austin Newsome, and Sasha Downey; as well as four grandchildren, Jordy, Kora, Arianna, and Olivia.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Nitardy Funeral Home (1008 Madison Avenue, Fort Atkinson, WI) on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at the funeral home.

Walter A. Bruenger, 81, of Lake Mills went to heaven on Monday, June 8, 2026.

He was born on February 22, 1945, to the late Walter Sr and Alma (nee Holt) Bruenger. Walter grew up in Lake Mills and graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School in 1963. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin – Platteville for 2 years until 1965 when he Joined the Air Force and honorably served in southeast Asia from 1965-1968. December 14th 1968 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Katherine Luetzow. He worked for Hamlin Inc, then Standish Industries then Planar for over 30 years until retirement. As a young man Walter loved water skiing and being on the lake. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting antiques later in life with his wife Kathy. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Those Walter leaves behind are his loving wife of 57 years, Katherine Bruenger; three children, Samuel Bruenger, Claire (Marcus) Smith, and Joseph Bruenger; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (John) Francis, Carissa (Logan) Lindau, Jordan (Ricky) Smith, and Taylor (Sederick) Ervin; three great-grandchildren, Jameson, Everett, and Miles; nephew Jason Bruenger, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gregory (Toni) Bruenger.

A private service will be held for family and friends.

Earlier today, our Location Leader Noah (and his wife Arianna) and Administration Manager Lindsay (and her husband Jake) golfed a "Round for the Kids." It was a day filled with fun, great golf, and supporting the youth and future of Fort Atkinson and beyond!

Special thanks to the Crown of Life: Christian Academy and Koshkonong Mounds Country Club for hosting such a wonderful event!

Sally A. Sexton, 90, passed away on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Sally was born on October 5, 1935 in Watertown, WI, the daughter of Aaron and Evelyn (Walther) Wolfgram.

Sally graduated from Jefferson High School in 1953 and in her senior year was recruited by the Larsen Company to be a secretary. This started her love for working in administrative services, having had a long career at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital assisting the senior leadership. Sally considered her colleagues at the hospital to be an extension of her family.

Sally loved her home in Fort Atkinson, watching and feeding the birds, especially the hummingbirds, and her little red convertible, “THE SAS”. Her faith in the Lord sustained her. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson for over 60 years. Sally’s favorite travels were to New York City and staying at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Sally enjoyed music and classic movies (especially those with Clark Gable), and The Titanic. In her later years she found much joy in going for rides to Helenville and Jefferson past her childhood homes, her high school, and places that held special family memories.

Once Sally agreed to having Suzy, a toy poodle, she never lived without a dog in the home. Sally loved her Yorkies – Tiffany, Shea, Lucy, and Annie.

Sally’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by children Barry (Amy) Sexton of Fort Atkinson, Laurie Sexton (Larry Wooley) of Wauwatosa, Rick Sexton of Fort Atkinson; grandsons, Brady (Auhea) Sexton (great grandchildren, Kingston and Keilahni) of Fort Atkinson, and Tyler (Maura Drabik) Sexton of Middleton, and a niece and nephew and their families.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Wayne, and her sister-in-law, Pat.

Sally’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Jefferson Memory Care and Rainbow Hospice for the loving care and support she received, especially Kimberly, Kathy, Joanie, and Autumn.

Memorials may be directed to Rainbow Hospice, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, or the Jefferson County Humane Society.

A private family service will take place on Saturday, June 6, with pastor Allen Kirschbaum presiding.

James J. Schultz, 50, of Jefferson, WI passed away May 16, 2026, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center.

He was born April 25, 1976, to Paula (nee Nicholas) Bush and Steven Schultz. Jim was a graduate of Fort Atkinson High School, class of 1994. He enjoyed his position as a forklift operator for Nestle Purina the past 20+ years.

Jim was an avid sports fan his entire life especially of auto racing, where you could often find him at a local track on the weekend supporting his favorite drivers. Jim also enjoyed model trains and railfanning, plus traveling as much as possible.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Paula (Scott) Bush; sister, Patricia (nee Schultz) Garcia; nephews Tyson Amaral, Anthony Amaral, and grandnephew, Mason Amaeral; uncle James Plaster, who was more like a brother; stepsisters Rebecca Bush and Robin (Donald) Brennan; grandmother Pamela Nicholas, and many other uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Aurora Summit and Aurora St. Luke’s for their care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
