Play is one of the primary ways children learn language 🧸💬💛

At Allison’s Therapy Corner, our Speech Therapists use play-based approaches to help children build language skills in ways that feel natural, meaningful, and fun. Through play, children are learning how to communicate, connect, understand others, and express themselves every single day ✨

During play-based speech therapy, we may target skills such as:
💬 Expanding vocabulary
🗣️ Using words to request, comment, and answer questions
🧠 Understanding directions and concepts
🤝 Turn-taking and social interaction
📚 Building sentence length and conversation skills
🎲 Functional communication during everyday activities

Whether it’s pretend play, games, sensory activities, books, movement, or child-led interactions, therapy is designed to keep children engaged while supporting meaningful language growth 🌈

We believe children learn best through connection, play, and feeling safe to communicate in their own way 🤍

🍎 For many children, mealtimes can feel overwhelming, stressful, or exhausting. Feeding therapy helps children build confidence, comfort, and safe eating skills through gentle, child-led support 🫶

Feeding therapy may help children who:
✨ Gag or spit out foods
✨ Have difficulty chewing or swallowing
✨ Eat a very limited variety of foods
✨ Struggle with certain textures or temperatures
✨ Experience stress or anxiety around meals
✨ Have oral-motor or sensory difficulties

At Allison’s Therapy Corner, we use playful, low-pressure approaches to help children explore foods at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for them 🤍

Because mealtimes should feel calm, connected, and supported, not like a battle 🌈
