🕯Proper Candle burning procedure:
1. Cut wicks to the proper size. Before lighting the candle the wick must be 1/4 inch for optimal results and for safety reasons. Although we use self- trimming wicks in all our candles, its good practice to check every time.
2. Let the wax melt all the way across the entire jar. Doing so will prolong your candle life. Blowing your candle out prematurely can lead to problems such as tunneling. Our candles take approximately 40-45 minutes to evenly pool across the jar on the initial lighting.
3. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. We recommend burning your candle for 1 – 4 hours for the optimal candle experience. Burning a candle longer than 4 hours can be a serious safety concern.
4. Keep away from moving air and debris. Scout out a nice spot for your candle to rest on away from any air conditioners, fans, open windows or high traffic areas. Moving air disturbs the wick causing more carbon dioxide to be released. This can lead to a soot build up around the jar or cause the wax to tunnel. Having debris around a lit candle is also a big no-no. Debris of any sort can easily be swept up into the flame and catch fire.
