Meet Steven Eull ⛳️

Steven has been a part of Special Olympics Minnesota for over 30 years and was recently selected to represent Team Minnesota in golf at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games!

After earning a gold medal in 2025, he went through the selection process and is now preparing to compete later this month.

“The reason I do this is the fun,” he shared.

Steven also receives employment support from Rise for his roles at Target in St. Paul and Tareen Dermatology.

Weekly cooking class gives people served the opportunity to learn new skills, try fresh recipes, and build teamwork while having a great time along the way!

From chopping ingredients to following recipes and practicing kitchen safety, everyone plays an important role in creating meals together.

As Corey Batiste shared, “The homemade pizza is my favorite thing we have cooked so far,” adding, “This is so fun - I love cooking.” 🍕🍪

There’s just one week left to submit your Rise’ing Star nominations! ⭐

Rise’ing Star awards recognize people supported by Rise who have overcome challenges and achieved their goals over the past year. Anyone served by Rise in the last year is eligible, and nominations can be submitted by anyone - Rise team members, family members, employers, or community members.

Nominations are due by June 15, and winners will be selected by a committee later in June.

Rise activity coordinators Melody Kosbab and Gabbie Rodriguez presented at the 2026 Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation - MOHR Spring Conference earlier this week.

Their presentation, “Programming with Purpose: Practical Strategies for Creating Engaging Activity Calendars to Organize and Enrich Day Support Services,” focused on thoughtful, intentional activity planning. Through an interactive activity, they shared strategies for building engaging activity calendars, discussed common challenges in activity coordination, and explored solutions for creating high-quality experiences.

We’re proud to see Melody and Gabbie sharing their expertise with others in the field and helping advance programming across the industry. We also appreciate MOHR for the opportunity to be part of this year’s conference.
