August’s Writing to Heal theme is BOUNDARIES: Protect the woman you’re becoming.

Once you hear yourself, you have to honor what you hear. That may mean saying no. Asking for more time. Ending the conversation. Protecting your mornings. Refusing to keep explaining a decision you have already made.

Boundaries are not punishment. They are the structure that keeps your time, peace, emotional well-being, and creative energy from being treated like public property.

This month, we are writing into one central question: What do I need to protect?

Join me for the August Writing to Heal workshop, offered virtually and in person. Bring your journal, your truth, and your willingness to stop volunteering yourself for depletion.

Greetings everyone! It's been a long time. We were thinking about forgoing this project, but that's not in the cards! We were so determined to walk away that we even shut down the website 🥺

Well, folks have asked, spirit has spoken, and the movement Mommas and Project legacy holders are saying move forward. Baby, when THE Linda Villarosa said she thought it was a good idea and we should follow through, the fire was reignited!

Leslie Posey and I have decided to make one more great leap of faith and reach out to the community again! Leslie even played around with a cover idea. We hope to bring this work to life by 2027, so we need your help!

We are asking Sistahs to submit a short poem (5,000 words or less) or an image of their original art reflecting their experience at the Project. You may send a video testimony, and we'll transcribe it.

All submissions should be sent to [email protected].

BTW, we can also schedule a Zoom meeting to interview you. (Right now, weekends work best).
