I am so excited to invite you to the very first session of Hear in Kansas: The Listening Lounge! This group was created to be a welcoming, laid-back space for cochlear implant users to connect, share experiences, and support one another. Please know that this is not a lecture or a therapy session—it is a collaborative space for us to practice real-world listening skills and learn from each other's journeys.
Our inaugural virtual meeting will take place on: 📅 Friday, July 31st at 4:00 PM
Our First Topic: "The 'Hidden' Wins & Real-World Challenges"
We will kick things off with some casual introductions where you can share a bit about your own CI journey. Then, we will talk about "hidden wins"—those small, unexpected everyday sounds that surprise or delight us—as well as the real-world environments where we still find ourselves facing hurdles.
Crowdsourced Troubleshooting & Next Steps
You are more than welcome to bring any technical or situational listening challenges to the table. We will put our heads together to brainstorm tips. After the meeting, I will compile a summary and share the meeting notes back with you.
Furthermore, if we encounter complex questions or technical concerns that we can't solve together, I will gather those up and share them with the Audiologists to see if they have professional feedback or advice to help us out.
