Today is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.

Established in 2022, this day is an opportunity to remember and honor the lives lost to overdoses involving illegally made fentanyl—and to help prevent future loss. Behind every life lost is a family, friend, school, workplace, and community impacted by grief.

In July, Beth and Lily had the opportunity to participate in the Fentanyl Free America 5K and visit the traveling portion of the DEA’s Faces of Fentanyl exhibit. Seeing the faces and stories behind the statistics was a moving experience and an important reminder of the real people, families, and communities affected by fentanyl.

Today, we remember those we have lost, stand with the people who loved them, and continue working together to prevent future tragedies. 💜

A reminder for our community: Naloxone (Narcan) is available FREE at LiveWell Finney County. Naloxone can quickly reverse an opioid overdose and save a life. Having it available when it’s needed can make all the difference.

💧 A new healthy option at Garden Valley!

We’re excited to see Garden Valley’s new hydration station up and running! LHEAT funds were used to purchase the water dispenser and cart, helping make water an easy and accessible choice for residents.

We’re even happier to see residents already enjoying this new healthy offering! 💙💧

Small changes can make a big difference in supporting healthier communities!

👍 Give this post a LIKE if you love seeing healthy options becoming more accessible in our community!

Our favorite GVRV IL resident Gene and his twin brother Jack are here to remind everyone that when the temperature rises it's important to keep hydrated! Gene & Jack have the right idea! STAY COOL! STAY HYDRATED! STAY HAPPY!
Thank you to LiveWell Finney County Health Coalition and the LHEAT group for making this Hydration Station possible!

Back-to-school season is officially here! 🍎✨ While this time of year brings excitement, we know it can also bring a lot of pressure, busy schedules, and stress.

It’s tempting to reach for a "quick fix," but it’s important to remember that to***co and va**ng products aren't the answer. In fact, they often end up adding more stress to your day instead of taking it away. 🚫💨

If you or a loved one are looking for a fresh start, you don’t have to do it alone! Whether you smoke, v**e, or use other to***co products, there is free, 24/7 support ready and waiting whenever you’re ready to quit. You’ve got this, and we’re rooting for you! 🌟🙌

🤎🤍🦬 Great things are happening at GCHS! 🦬🤍🤎

A big thank you to Lily and Mr. Cruz for spending their evening at the Garden City High School Open House sharing prevention information and connecting students and families with resources!

They’ve also been hard at work getting the GCHS chapter of HOSA – Future Health Professionals up and running! 🩺

HOSA is a student-led organization that gives students interested in healthcare and health-related careers opportunities to build leadership skills, explore career pathways, participate in service projects and activities, and connect with other future health professionals.

📣 Membership applications are now being accepted!

GCHS students interested in learning more about HOSA or joining the chapter can stop by Mr. Cruz’s room in the Yellow Academy for more information.

We’re excited to see students getting involved, building leadership skills, and making a difference at GCHS and in our community! 🤎🤍🦬

💙 August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month! 💚

Creating a community that supports breastfeeding families can start with something as simple as saying, “You are welcome here.”

Local businesses and organizations can help make Finney County even more family-friendly by becoming a Breastfeeding Welcome Here designated location. Restaurants, retail stores, workplaces, healthcare providers, schools, libraries, and community spaces can all participate!

Small changes can make a BIG impact. 💙 Supporting breastfeeding means supporting healthy babies, families, and our entire community.

👉 Interested in becoming Breastfeeding Welcome Here? Check out the link in the comments!

Did you know that your student’s voice has the power to shape our community’s future? 🌟

The Kansas Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) is a great way for us to better understand what our local students are experiencing. This data is super important—it helps us secure funding for programs that directly support the health and well-being of our youth! 🍎🏀

Because this survey requires parent permission, your participation is key to making sure our data truly represents our community. Let’s work together to make sure every voice is heard! 🗣️✨
