Why Your Horse Deserves a Massage

Just like us, horses carry tension, stiffness, and soreness — especially after training, competition, or long rides. Regular equine massage isn’t just pampering; it’s essential care.

Here’s why:
✅ Improves performance: Looser muscles = smoother, more powerful movement.
✅ Boosts recovery: Speeds healing after exercise or minor injuries.
✅ Enhances circulation: Helps remove toxins and deliver oxygen to tissues.
✅ Improves focus and behavior: A comfortable horse is more cooperative and responsive under saddle.
✅ Reduces stress: Keeps your horse relaxed, focused, and happy.
✅ Identifies issues early: Regular sessions can reveal tension, soreness, or imbalance before they become major problems.

Your horse gives you their best every day — make sure you give back. Plus, your horse texted — they’d really appreciate a pampered day!

Long time no posting… sorry life gets busy sometimes!

Just wanting to hop on and let everyone know even with some horse’s show season coming to a close, there’s never a bad “season” to get body work done!

The ultimate goal is to let your horse be a horse… have plenty of turn out with their friends, roll in the mud, and maybe have a little time off.

Their off season doesn’t have to be boring and non productive. Body work like massage can help keep the muscles supple, prevent atrophy, and minimize stiffness.

Some horses may come out of show season a little sore. If there’s something off you should always contact your veterinarian to see what they recommend first. Some horses may just come out with sore muscle from a long show season. If your horse wasn’t getting regular body work done during the season they could be hiding some pain that you never noticed. Massage therapy can help relieve those stiff, tight muscles.

All in all, I hope your horse got praised after each ride they gave you. I also hope you consider giving your best friend a little spa day and schedule a massage for them!

Good luck to everyone still showing and I hope you have a safe rest of the show season!

Does your horse have muscle spasms when just running your fingers down a certain area of their body?

Massage is a great way to relieve the tension and discomfort! This video is based off just one massage session. This gelding is in very light work - about to start into more work as the weather gets better.

The first clip of the video shows before I started the massage. You can see the raised head level and the muscle spasms down through the shoulders. Once the massage was done I went back to that same area. You can see the level of the head had dropped and he had relaxed! No more spasms either!

I love being able to help these horses out. Feeling their muscle just melt into my hands as they allow me to open up their muscles is so rewarding.

As always thank you to all my clients thus far, and I hope to keep growing my clientele! Feel free to text, email, or message me to get on my schedule!

Happy news… Spring is coming!! (If you couldn’t tell based on the pictures 😉)

I love seeing the horses go from fuzz balls to nice slick shiny coats!

Did you know massage will help the look of your horse’s coat? Massage helps with the muscular system of the horse but it also benefits the integumentary system. The skin and muscle become less tense.

When the muscle and skin have released tension the horse’s body will already improve to the eye. With massage my hands are my tool. If you watch how I massage you will find that I use every side and part of my hands. When I am doing this I’m getting an oil on my hands called sebum. Sebum is an oil that horses secrete all over their skin. When I massage I am moving this oil all over their body more than they can. The sebum will then be able to be massaged into the hair follicles and skin to keep it moisturized and soft!

I often have clients ask me what the benefit of body work on their horse will be. As with people, there is the simple answer of - it is relaxing and feels good.

Massage allows for your horse to improve in multiple ways. Massage not only helps the muscular system, but it also helps the skeletal system, digestive system, nervous system, cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, and so much more.

If your horse is on a good massage schedule it will allow for enhanced muscle tone and increased range of motion. Did you know that healthy muscle can stretch 1.5 times its resting length? One of the major protections against muscular injury is prevention.

I love to share any and all knowledge that I gain. With this page I hope to not only share my business but also teach others along the way!

As always, you can message me with any questions or to schedule an appointment!
