For so many years, my body didn't know the difference between safety and danger. Even in quiet moments, my nervous system was preparing for the next battle. I thought peace was something I had to earn by working harder, pleasing everyone, staying hypervigilant, or never making a mistake.
Healing has slowly taught me something different.
Peace isn't a reward for getting everything right. It isn't something reserved for people who have suffered "just enough" or healed "well enough."
It's what our minds and bodies have been searching for all along.
My hope for every person reading this is that one day the war inside begins to quiet. That your shoulders finally relax. That your mind stops treating every day like a battlefield. That you learn to speak to yourself with the same compassion you've always offered everyone else.
And maybe, just maybe, one day you'll realize that home isn't only a place you find.
It's a place you finally become.
