Grounding, Detox, and Inflammation

Detoxification is essentially a series of chemical reactions that your body uses to take harmful substances to more inert substances for elimation from the body. Inflammation is downregulated in the same way, chemical reactions breaking down inflammatory cytokines, rendering them inert.

Basic chemistry shows that chemical reactions depend upon the interaction and transfer of electrons. The body is designed to carry a slightly negative charge, thus carrying an abundance of electrons available for these necessary chemical reactions. In today's modern age, we are more likely to carry a positive or inflammatory charge, a deficiency of electrons. Grounding regularly replenishes electrons, is anti-inflammatory, and assists detoxification.

Why can't you "catch" the low blood sugar from reactive hypoglycemia on a finger prick test? Many of the uncomfortable symtpoms are caused by adrenaline, your body is fighting back to keep you stable. So the blood sugar may have dropped for a short period in time or be attempting to drop, resulting in uncomfortable symtpoms. Furthermore, if you sre insulin resistant, the level that triggers hypoglycemia may be higher than normal.

The solution? Get a glucose tolerance test, which "challenges" your body with a glucose "load" then charts your insulin and blood sugar levels continuously over time, as opposed to a one time random finger prick.

Why is Lyme so hard to treat? Part 2

When Lyme is reached and killed by antibiotics, whether herbsl or chemical in form, the body has to clear the broken bits and pieces. When these prices of dead bacteria circulate in the system, the immune system reacts causing a chain reaction of systemic inflammation. Nkw the body has to clear the inflammatory chemicals and the bacteria. Furthermore, the bacterial toxins clog the detox pathways and inflame the gut, liver, and kidneys, making it harder to eliminate. These reactions, called a "herx" can range from mild to debilitating and dangerous and take anywhere from a few days to ssversl weeks to calm down depending in the person. This makes treatment exhausting, agonizing, ans painstakingly slow.

Why is Lyme so hard to treat? Part 1

The Lyme bacteria, Borrelia burgdorferi, is a spirochete. This bacteria changes shapes and forms, allowing the bacteria to evade the immune system. The cyst form is highly resistant to destruction. Furthermore, the bacteria steals proteins fron your own cells and "wears them" as a disguise, making them harder to recognize. The spiral corkscrew shape allows them to burrow deep within body tissues, hard to oenetrate places by antibiotics. Finally, Lyme is known as the great imitator, causing a vast array of seemingly unrelated symptoms and conditions.
