Absolutely loved being able to go out to the Refuge Ranch fun show! After meeting the people, volunteers, and horses I am more convinced than ever they have something special going on there. So don’t miss out! Come out to the show on October 24th, support Refuge ranch, watch some talented riders, and I will be there offering pre and post event sessions again as well!

And don’t forget! Any session booked by 9/12 will have 20% going back to support the community at refuge ranch. Visit our website gracefulgalloper.com, message, email, or call me to book!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out for our Fun Show series this summer! 🥰🐴

And thank you to our summer sponsor DiGiovanna Trucking & Septic DiGiovanna Septic and Sappy's Tree Trimming and Bush Removal for sponsoring our September show! Thank you to Graceful Galloper Equine for coming out today and making some very happy horses!

Since today was a small turnout due to the heat, we wanted to offer a special date to get everyone out one more time this year! Mark your calendar for October 24th for our last show of the year!

Tip Tuesday: Don’t skip the warmup! For both of you…

Your horse’s body needs preparation just like yours does. A good ride starts before you ever ask for the first big movement.
Taking the extra time to warm up both your bodies, focusing on the small and less exciting movements make the big movements less fatiguing.

You wouldn’t walk into the gym and immediately max out your bench press, so don’t ask your horse todo the equivalent!

Warm up, then get to work.

Tip Tuesday! Learn your horse’s normal

You can’t recognize a change if you don’t know what’s normal. If somebody asks you “is that normal for your horse?” Being able to say a definite no (or definite yes) is better than having to admit to them and yourself that you don’t know. Here are 5 things todo on a regular basis to learn your horse’s normal, so you can tell what isn’t 👉

1. Groom them regularly. Grooming gives you an opportunity to see and feel what your horse’s coat, muscles, hooves and legs are normally like.

2. Watch them eat and drink. Know their normal appetite and water intake, especially after consistent exercise.

3. Learn their normal manure. Pay close attention to the usual frequency, consistency and appearance.

4. Feel both sides of their body. Comparing left and right can help you become familiar with their body’s symmetry.

5. Know their normal numbers. Become familiar with their typical temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate, both resting and after work so you can recognize a concerning change.

🇺🇸Happy Fourth of July from Graceful Galloper Equine❤️🤍💙 Since the earliest days of our country’s history, horses have carried us through work, war, sport, and celebration. Their strength has helped shape the American story. Graceful Galloper Equine believes that kind of partnership deserves thoughtful care. Remember the history of our country, and of our horses.
