📣 Why doesn’t Extraordinary Wellness accept insurance? Let’s talk about the reality.

Insurance-based care often comes with limits on visit length, testing, treatment options, and what concerns can be addressed during one appointment.

But your health does not fit neatly into a billing code.

At Extraordinary Wellness, we take time to understand the full picture: your symptoms, hormones, nutrition, sleep, stress, lifestyle, health history, and lab results. Our goal is not simply to manage one concern at a time. It is to uncover patterns, identify potential root causes, and create a personalized plan designed around you.

Remaining outside of the insurance model allows us to:
✨ Spend more time listening
✨ Explore the deeper “why” behind your symptoms
✨ Recommend testing based on clinical need
✨ Build individualized treatment plans
✨ Make decisions with you, rather than allowing an insurance company to determine your care

We understand that self-pay care is an investment, and we never take that lightly. Our goal is not to move you quickly through a system. It is to help you feel heard, supported, and cared for as a whole person.

Because healthcare should feel personal, not transactional. 🤍

Female pattern hair loss is incredibly common, and it can become more noticeable as hormones shift through your 30s, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

But thinning hair is not always just about aging.

It may be influenced by:
✨ Changing estrogen and androgen balance
✨ Thyroid dysfunction
✨ Low iron or nutrient deficiencies
✨ PCOS or elevated androgens
✨ Metabolic health
✨ Stress, illness, or disrupted sleep
✨ Genetics and family history

In your 30s, hair loss accompanied by irregular cycles, acne, or increased facial hair may warrant a closer look at androgen levels and PCOS.

In your 40s, fluctuating hormones may overlap with stress-related shedding, thyroid changes, or low iron.

In your 50s and beyond, declining estrogen can alter the hormonal environment surrounding the hair follicle, contributing to gradual thinning across the scalp. Research continues to highlight the relationship between menopause, relative androgen activity, and hair-follicle health.

The encouraging news? There are options. Depending on the individual, care may include targeted lab evaluation, nutritional and lifestyle support, topical treatments, prescription therapies, or regenerative approaches such as PRP. Low-dose oral minoxidil is also increasingly used off-label under appropriate medical supervision, although individualized prescribing and monitoring remain important.

At Extraordinary Wellness, we do not simply ask, “How do we treat the hair?”

We ask, “What might the hair be revealing about the body?”

Because meaningful care begins by understanding your hormones, nutrients, symptoms, lifestyle, and overall health as one connected picture.

You deserve more than being told hair loss is simply part of getting older. 🤍

And what’s even more powerful is I never told her not to start the SSRI. Her body naturally changed and she recognized it.

☀️ Could low vitamin D be affecting more than your energy?

Vitamin D is often associated with bone and immune health, but it also plays an important role in the brain.

Vitamin D receptors are found in areas involved in mood, memory, and cognition. Healthy levels may help support neurotransmitter activity, neuroplasticity, and a balanced inflammatory response.

Research has found an association between low vitamin D levels and symptoms such as:
✨ Low mood
✨ Fatigue
✨ Difficulty concentrating
✨ Anxiety
✨ Cognitive decline

This does not mean vitamin D deficiency is the only cause of these symptoms, or that taking a supplement alone can treat depression or anxiety. That is why personalized care matters.

Instead of looking at one symptom in isolation, we look at the full picture, including:
🌿 Nutrient levels
🌿 Hormones
🌿 Sleep
🌿 Stress
🌿 Inflammation
🌿 Nutrition and lifestyle

Vitamin D may be one piece of the puzzle, especially when a true deficiency is present, but mental wellness is rarely connected to only one factor.

Your symptoms are not “all in your head.” They may be signals asking us to look deeper. At Extraordinary Wellness, we focus on uncovering root causes and creating individualized plans to help you feel clearer, more energized, and more like yourself again.

***Vitamin D is not a replacement for mental health treatment. Testing and supplementation should be individualized with guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.

📣Ladies, you are not past your prime. You are stepping into your power.

There is something extraordinary about a woman who has lived enough life to know herself, trust her intuition, protect her peace, and stop shrinking to make others comfortable.

And there is science behind the glow-up. Research suggests self-esteem often continues to rise throughout adulthood, reaching its highest levels around ages 50 to 60. Studies have also found that perceived stress may decrease for many women through midlife, while life satisfaction can remain steady or even improve from the 40s into the 60s.

Your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond are not an ending. They can be years of deeper confidence, clearer boundaries, renewed purpose and becoming more fully yourself.

You are not behind. You are not too late. You are not finished. You are just getting started, our amazing friends.

Tag a fabulous woman who is only getting better with time, and tell us what makes her extraordinary. ✨
