Exciting news to share! 🤗
In May 2026, Gonzales Healthcare Systems achieved a 0% Primary C-Section Rate!
What does this mean and why are we excited to share?
Because in Texas, the Primary C-Section Rate hovers around 24.6% per 100 live births for first-time mothers, with this number contributing to a total statewide Cesarean delivery rate of approximately 34.5%. All of this data and information is monitored by the Texas Health Data system.
The most common tracked metric in regards to deliveries and C-Sections is the NTSV (Nulliparous, Term, Singleton, Vertex) rate, which measures low-risk, first-time pregnancies. In our region, other facilities rate between 13% - 23%, with a state goal of 23.6%. Gonzales Healthcare Systems NTSV rate is currently 3.5%.
While the state of Texas averages a higher primary C-Section rate, that is not the case for Gonzales Healthcare Systems.
