I don’t think people realize how much chronic illness can quietly steal from your life.
💔 Here’s what started happening:
1️⃣ I stopped making plans.
❤️🩹 I never knew if I’d have enough energy to follow through.
2️⃣ I started canceling more.
❤️🩹 Not because I wanted to. Because my body couldn’t keep up.
3️⃣ I stopped looking forward to things.
❤️🩹 Everything started feeling like something I had to survive instead of enjoy.
4️⃣ I became more isolated.
❤️🩹 It felt easier to stay home than explain why I was struggling.
5️⃣ I stopped being spontaneous.
❤️🩹 Every decision revolved around how exhausted I felt.
6️⃣ I started feeling disconnected from life.
❤️🩹 I was physically present, but emotionally and mentally drained.
7️⃣ My world slowly got smaller.
❤️🩹 That was the part that broke my heart.
💔 And after hearing “everything looks normal” for years, I started believing maybe this was just who I was now.
But it wasn’t.
It was Hashimoto’s disease and thyroid dysfunction slowly affecting every part of my life while nobody was connecting the dots.
