✨ Our Website Is Officially Live! ✨
Today we are excited to officially welcome you to Dwell Counseling Collective, PLLC.
The name Dwell was prayerfully chosen from the beautiful words of Psalm 84:1–4:
"How lovely is Your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God... Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You." — Psalm 84:1–4
These verses capture the heartbeat of our ministry and practice. We believe that every heart was created to long for the presence of God and that lasting hope, healing, peace, and restoration ultimately flow from Him.
Our prayer is that Dwell Counseling Collective would be a place where individuals, couples, and families are met with compassion, clinical excellence, and grace as we walk alongside them through life's challenges. For those who desire it, we thoughtfully integrate a Biblical worldview into the counseling process, pointing people toward the One who is our refuge, our hope, and our true dwelling place.
Though our name has changed, our mission has not. We remain committed to serving our community with the same quality care, the same compassionate team, and the same desire to help people experience healing and lasting growth.
We invite you to explore our newly launched website, meet our team, and learn more about how we can serve you.
"How lovely is Your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!" — Psalm 84:1
Thank you for being part of this new chapter with us. May we all continue to find our truest home in the presence of the Lord.

✨ Big Announcement! ✨
We are so excited to share that our newly updated website will launch this week! Along with our refreshed website, we're also introducing our newest team member and celebrating an exciting new chapter for our practice.

Formerly known as Katie Bowman Counseling Collective, PLLC, we are now Dwell Counseling Collective, PLLC.

While our name has changed, our mission has not.
📍 Same convenient location.
❤️ Same compassionate, high-quality clinical care.
✝️ Same commitment to integrating Biblical truth into professional mental health counseling for those who desire faith-based care.

Our heart has always been to create a place where individuals, couples, and families can find hope, healing, and lasting growth. As we begin this new chapter as "Dwell Counseling Collective, PLLC", our name reflects the prayer found in Psalm 84—that our hearts would long to dwell in the presence of the Lord, where true strength, hope, and restoration are found.

We are honored to continue serving our community by walking alongside those who are seeking healing, helping them draw hope, truth, wisdom, and restoration from the One True God, who alone satisfies the longing soul and faithfully strengthens those who trust in Him.

Stay tuned for our new website launch later this week, and thank you for allowing us to walk alongside you. We can't wait to share what's ahead!

Psalm 84:1-4
"How lovely is your dwelling place,
Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young— a place near your altar,
Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you."

It seems every family has at least one: that person who has a hard time getting a handle on their emotions, who struggles to self-regulate, and lacks awareness of how others around them are feeling. When they meltdown or start a screaming match with their sibling or another family member, the whole family feels it…and it doesn’t feel all that great. Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to understand your own emotions and the emotions of others, and the ability to manage and apply your emotions to everyday life. You know as well as anyone that having a kid or teen who lacks emotional intelligence can be tough on the whole family. But there’s some good news: empathy and self-management can be cultivated by helping your kid foster the skills they need to regulate their emotions while staying aware of not only their feelings, but the feelings of those around them. Here’s how: Self-awarenessSelf-awareness is knowing your strengths and weaknesses and how your behavior affects others. Helping our kids grow in emotional self-awareness starts with helping them define their feelings, which will ultimately help them recognize when others feel the same way. Having emotional self-awareness will help kids become better listeners, effective communicators, critical thinkers, and develop strong leadership skills. Self-managementIt’s important for kids to know how healthy it is to express their emotions. But they also have to understand how to manage those emotions so they aren’t taking control of their thoughts and actions. The first step to helping our kids manage their emotions is teaching them and modeling self-control. Practice pausing and taking a deep breath when emotions are high. Model healthy coping skills like calling a friend, moving your body, or taking a break when you feel like you’re struggling to self-regulate. Empathy and UnderstandingEmpathy is the ability to imagine what a person feels at any given time and take into consideration their point of view. When our kids develop empathy, it helps them not only relate to themselves and others, but also helps them build cultural awareness and accept differences easier. Relationship ManagementConflict is a part of life, and it’ll be helpful for your kid to know how to “read the room.” When they’re in tune with their emotions and the emotions of others, over time, it’ll be easier for them to gauge when to speak, the best words to use, and the appropriate tone of voice. Helping your kid foster emotional intelligence will take time, but it’s never too early to start the process. Your role is to make sure you’re a safe place for them to learn from and make mistakes while they learn how to relate with others. https://theparentcue.org/search/?_sf_s=emotional+intelligence

Here are seven hacks to keep calm in the middle of calendar chaos:
01 - Put your calendar on display: Share the knowledge with your entire family in a place that’s visible to everyone.
02 - Embrace color coding: Channel your inner middle schooler and grab some highlighters, washi tape, pens, or markers in different colors. Then, apply a system to your scheduling. Just make sure everyone knows what the colors mean.
03 - Hold a monthly family meeting: Gather your whole crew together at the start of each month to chat about how things went last month. Ask questions like, what’s going well? What needs to change? Are you feeling fulfilled with your current pace or are you feeling stretched too thin? Then, talk about what’s to come and update your calendar in real-time.
04 - Set aside 10 minutes each week for a check-in: This is your opportunity to avoid any confusion or assumptions over the “Big Five” of the upcoming week: the who, what, when, where, and how.
05 - Limit extracurriculars: It may sound harsh, but consider limiting sports and extracurricular activities to one (maybe two) commitments per person each season. This will give your family some room to breathe and allow each person capacity to think creatively and try new things.
06 - Create a system to keep chores under control: Establish a daily plan for tackling chores in small doses so nothing gets out of hand. You might do a daily 10-minute tidy where everyone pitches in to clean up before bed, or assign each family member a room that needs to be cleaned—top to bottom—by the end of each week.
07 - Create and protect sacred times: Consider your calendar and the personality of your family to settle on a sacred time when you can all be together without distraction. Maybe you’ll do pizza and a movie on Friday nights. Or perhaps you’ll declare the first Saturday of the month an adventure day. Whatever you decide to do, be intentional about protecting those moments.
