I’ve been very blessed in my doula career to never miss a birth due to overlap. I’ve only rarely gone from birth to birth. This weekend was my first back to back overnight. When the sun came up Saturday and I had a text “my water broke” I knew I was in a for a long day.

I got back to the hospital at 6:30 on Saturday. Labor moved along at a typical first time mom pace. Both mom and dad were able to make informed decisions about the care of their baby. Asked great questions and assessed pros and cons. She had the best team. Some of the best nurses I’ve ever worked with.

Mom was a ROCKSTAR. Just absolutely incredible. She was kind to everyone she met. Was positive and funny. She is such a natural mama. 🥹

Dad was not only a client but a family friend. I got a front row seat to see how well and much he loves his girls. He would move any Natural Resource for them. And it was evident.

When plans changed - they took it in stride. And I got to witness two lovely people who welcome there baby earth side in a way that were not planning for.

It was such a beautiful day. Such an honor. And I just loved every second of it.

Granted I was very tired. They took the title for my longest birth ever. 🏆 but I’m glad it was them!

Welcome sweet baby girl!! 7lbs 2oz (dad guessed her weight and proudly called out “Mary I was right on the nose!!”

WELCOME BABY BOY!!!

I love love love repeat clients. Nothing makes me more honored and excited. When dad called me Friday night and things were picking up I was so excited to see her rock another VBAC. Come to find out dad really wanted to make sure they hired me because of the support I gave them the first time! 🥹

We walked. Talked. Laughed. Contracted. Swayed. Changed positions. Trialed. Errored. Then. Click. Baby was coming and he was coming fast.

From 3 hours pushing the first VBAC to 1 push this time.

And a surprise gender! Love it. Welcome to the world sweet baby BOYYYY

That is a WRAP on our school year!!!

Wow wow wow. What a year. We had so much fun. We laughed. We cried. We fought. We pushed through. I saw SO ugh growth in both of them. And in myself. I am so grateful for the opportunity to homeschool and get a front row seat to their education! Thank you Jesus.

Here are all of the read alouds we did together and their opinions on them. 📚 can’t wait for next year!! But first - SUMMER!!!!

Forever and always.

Taking potential client interviews, answering texts at odd hours, supporting families through the unknown — and somehow still doing it all from the front porch between math homework , coffee, and wiping my toddler’s nose.

A little about me—
My name is Mary, and I’m a doula in Michigan. I’m big on education, honest conversations, and making sure you feel supported without pressure. I have a special heart for second-time moms and VBACs, but I work with all kinds of births.

If you’re feeling unsure, have a million questions, or just want someone in your corner—this is literally what I do 🤍

My start as a doula actually began 10 years ago with the birth of my daughter. I labored at home expecting one kind of story, and ended up needing a C-section. That experience is what first opened my eyes to how different birth can look from what we plan—and how much it matters to feel supported through all of it.
