“Chemo hair” can be a wild ride; our clients can be grateful for their health and hair regrowth while also, understandably, impatient with how long it can take to look like themselves again. This client looks vibrant & beautiful with AND without a wig as her hair grows back. (Don’t you agree?) 🤩✨💗 But, she prefers to have a few wigs on hand to wear over the next couple years — especially as she travels this fall.

Rachael, our owner and wig specialist, went through this same journey 9 years ago when she beat cancer and wore wigs for several years. It’s how she first began to research, source and curate a bespoke wig collection — first for herself and then for others. 🩵

A Creative Journey! 🖌️ When clients come in wanting to cover their widening part lines, cowlicks, and overall thinning, we begin by trying on a few different sizes & densities to ensure the feel is *just right.* We want the clips to feel secure yet lightweight. And, we want the look to offer coverage & volume while still appearing natural. 🤩

Length and color can be adjusted, so when a selection is made, Rachael and Jenny get to work on the perfect haircut & style to blend in with our clients’ own hair. We often color match the day of as well, while clients enjoy a cup of coffee or a walk outside in our cute neighborhood. ☀️ After nine years experience, we can fully customize a topper to fit just about any need. 🩵

Meet Jenny!

Jenny Shain is a licensed cosmetologist with several years of experience in cutting and coloring and is the newest addition to the Confidence Beyond team!

Jenny has a heart for helping those experiencing hair loss and brings her chair experience to our specialty work with wigs, toppers, and bio hair. She works closely alongside Rachael and continues advanced education in alternative hair to provide the personalized care and attention our clients expect at Confidence Beyond.

You’ll be seeing Jenny more around the studio as she helps with custom color, styling, and bio-hair services for our wig and topper clients.

Jenny lives in Fruitport with her husband and two teenage daughters. When she isn’t creating fresh color for a topper or giving a wig the perfect trim, you’ll find her driving her girls to their many activities, wrangling two dogs, and keeping up with the dozens of chickens on her family’s property!

Sometimes I catch myself smiling at work and think… this is what I get to do every day.

Confidence Beyond was born from my personal journey with cancer and hair loss.

What started from that experience has grown into something I never could have imagined.

Over the 8 years I’ve been in business, I’ve dedicated myself to learning, growing, and perfecting my craft in alternative hair. I’ve spent countless hours understanding the little details that can make all the difference—the fit, density, color, hairline, movement and customization that make a piece feel like you.

Today, I specialize in bespoke custom human hair wigs and toppers, creating pieces specifically for the person who will wear them. No two people, stories, or experiences with hair loss are exactly the same—and I don’t believe their hair should be either.

But as much as I love the artistry behind what I do, my favorite part will always be the people.

I know what it feels like to sit on the other side of that chair. That’s why every person who walks through our doors deserves to feel heard, cared for and understood.

So when you see me smiling at work, this is why.

I built something from a difficult chapter of my own story that now allows me to help other people through theirs.

And I absolutely love what I do. 🩵
