What it is: short-term care for your loved one, arranged by the hospice team, so you can rest.
How long: up to 5 days at a time, in a Medicare-approved facility.
How often: it can be used more than once, but only occasionally.
What it costs: under Original Medicare, 5% of the Medicare-approved amount.
Who arranges it: the hospice team. Ask them first.

Costs depend on your coverage, so ask the hospice team about your situation.

Fact: You can stop hospice care at any time. ✅

Here's how it works:
1️⃣ It's your choice. No one should ask you to sign the form unless you asked to stop.
2️⃣ You sign a form with your end date.
3️⃣ Regular Medicare coverage resumes.
4️⃣ If you're still eligible, you can return to hospice later.

Many families wait because choosing hospice feels final. It isn't.
