GVSC is currently hiring full-time and part-time OR Nurses.

REQUIREMENTS:
· Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing.
· Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
· Two years experience working in an outpatient surgical setting preferred.
· Previous experience in admitting, recovery, ICU or related peri-operative area desirable.
· Current certification in Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS).
· ACLS Certification for medical professionals within six months of employment.
· Availability to work a flexible schedule during the business workweek.
· Ability to effectively communicate and work with team members as well as surgeons, patients and other customers.
· Requires extensive mobility (walking and standing).
· Frequent lifting and bending, pushing and/or pulling loads.
· Ability to lift up to a 60 pound weight load.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating Room:
· Responsible for getting room set up for the procedure
· Responsible for position patient and confirming with the patient their information
· Ensure monitors are ready and assist the anesthesiologist as needed.
· Assist surgical team in maintaining integrity of the sterile field and monitor equipment, surgical team and patient throughout the procedure
· Responsible for maintaining narcotic count
· Responsible for getting additional supplies and/or equipment during procedure and documenting on the preference card
· Responsible for documentation on the OR record including implants used
· Responsible for management of the IV conscious sedation patients
· Responsible for transferring patient to the recovery area and assisting in turning the room over
· Complete appropriate forms to ensure specimens are ready for the lab
· Assist Surgical Techs with table set up
· Ability to circulate for multiple specialties.
