🧴☀️ Happy National Sunscreen Day! ☀️🧴
As the weather warms up and we head outside, protecting your skin is one of the easiest and most effective ways to practice preventative health. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, but it’s also highly preventable.
Before you step outside today, make sure you're set up for success with our clinic’s quick SPF Checklist:
Broad-Spectrum is Key: Choose a sunscreen labeled "Broad-Spectrum" to protect against both UVA rays (which cause aging) and UVB rays (which cause burning).
Aim for SPF 30+: The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using an SPF of 30 or higher daily.
Don't Forget the Details: Lips, ears, the back of the neck, and the tops of your feet need protection, too! Use a lip balm with SPF 15 or higher.
The 2-Hour Rule: Sunscreen wears off. Reapply every two hours, or immediately after swimming or heavy sweating.
Keep your skin healthy and glowing all season long. What’s your favorite outdoor activity to enjoy safely in the sun? Let us know below! 👇
