As we close out this first phase of the year: 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡

I’m sitting in deep gratitude for the spaces I get to walk in and the lives I get to touch.

March was full of new clients, long days, meaningful work, guest speaking opportunities, new partnerships, and so much growth. Every moment stretched me, filled me, and reminded me why I do this work. 🤎

To be a Black woman.
To be a social worker.
To be a doula.
To be a healer, an advocate, a safe space.

This work is not just what I do, it’s who I am.

Every birth supported.
Every mom empowered.
Every family seen and heard.
Every story honored.

This month reminded me that our work is rooted in legacy, resilience, and purpose. From our ancestors who paved the way, to the women and families we serve today, we are continuing something so much bigger than ourselves.

To every woman doing the work, showing up tired but committed, pouring into others while still finding your way… I see you. I honor you. I celebrate you.

And to my clients, my community, and everyone who trusts me in such sacred moments, thank you. 🫶🏽

February 1 is not just our opening date it is history.

On this day in 1960, students from North Carolina A&T State University led the Greensboro Sit-Ins, reminding the world that presence, courage, and community can change everything.

As a proud A&T alum, opening the doors of Bump.Baby.Bliss. on February 1 was intentional. It represents legacy, resistance, ownership, and the continuation of Black excellence right here in downtown, Greensboro.

Now, 2 years later, during Black History Month, we celebrate more than longevity. We celebrate impact:
🤍 a Black woman-owned brick-and-mortar
🤍 a safe space for pregnancy, postpartum & mental health
🤍 a commitment to showing up for families every day

This space is our sit-in.
Our way of honoring those who paved the way by building something that lasts.

Thank you to every family, supporter, and community partner who has walked through these doors and trusted us with sacred moments.

Sometimes marriage looks like this…
Me: “Babe… I’m bleeding like CRAZY. I think I need some Depends. You might have to run to the store. Also can you turn the shower on….”
Him: Turns shower on…….opens DoorDash and starts ordering food AND Depends like he’s building an emergency kit 😂

Meanwhile, these fibroids/cysts/polyps whatever tf they are, are tag-teaming me like I owe them money. The fatigue, the cramps, the heavy bleeding with no warning… whew. Earlier this year I had a procedure to shave a fibroid because of where it was sitting and now the joker came back bigger. 🙄

But listen… being a woman is something SPECIAL.
Hard? Yes.
Uncomfortable? Absolutely.
But I’m still proud to be one. 🧘🏽‍♀️

Shoutout to the husbands who will walk down that feminine care aisle with CONFIDENCE or stress themselves out comparing each brand online. 😂🩸🙌🏽
