The worst part is that the dang password changes without warning.
A neurotypical brain is driven to action by things like importance, our brains activate with urgency, novelty, and interest.
That’s why things suddenly feel possible when the panic kicks in or in crisis. It’s why a job might feel “easy” for the first few weeks then suddenly feel like an impossible task. And it’s also why we can get sucked into planning a trip we’re excited about for hours on end.
We can’t change our brains but we can change the manual we use to operate it.
Keep on keepin’ on, friends! The journey continues!
What’s your password today? Mine is hype music on my headphones and changing environments every hour.
