🌱Exciting Update 🌱

I’m excited to officially share that I am opening my own functional pediatric clinic, True Vine Pediatrics!

After 30 years of caring for children and families as a board-certified pediatrician, I am stepping into a new chapter that allows me to offer the thoughtful, personalized care I believe every family deserves.

True Vine Pediatrics will serve children and young adults from 2 months to 20 years old. Using a functional medicine approach, I will look beyond symptoms to explore the underlying factors that may be affecting each child’s health.

I have a special interest in supporting children with autism, ADHD, mold exposure, gut health concerns, nutritional deficiencies and other chronic or complex health concerns. Each care plan will consider the whole child, including nutrition, lifestyle, development, environment and the unique needs of the family.

This has been a dream placed on my heart for quite some time, and I am incredibly grateful to finally bring it to life. I cannot wait to create a space where families feel heard, supported and empowered with the knowledge they need to help their children thrive.

Getting sick often. 🤒
Feeling “just off,” even when bloodwork comes back “normal.”

For teens and young adults, this isn’t something to just push through. A functional evaluation looks deeper, at gut health, nutrient status, hormones, stress load, and more, to figure out what’s actually driving the exhaustion.

The goal isn’t a quick fix. It’s a clear picture of what’s going on, and a plan built around it.

Could mold be affecting your child’s health?

Mold exposure can look different in every child, but some common signs may include:

✔️ Chronic congestion
✔️ Coughing or wheezing
✔️ Frequent allergy-like symptoms
✔️ Headaches
✔️ Skin irritation
✔️ Asthma flare-ups
✔️ Trouble sleeping or feeling run down

While mold is not always the cause, it can be an important piece of the puzzle, especially when symptoms keep coming back or do not seem to improve.

Dr. Cathie, will look at the whole child, including their environment, lifestyle, nutrition, and symptoms, to help families better understand what may be contributing to how their child feels.

If your child has ongoing respiratory symptoms, allergies, asthma concerns, or you suspect mold exposure in your home, it may be time to take a closer look.

Support starts with understanding! 🤍

One of the best parts of my job is educating patients. I love questions. I love to learn. I love to share. I love prenatal consults so I can educate before your baby arrives so we can welcome them into the world in the healthiest state they can be.

What’s for breakfast? You will hear me say “aim for 5 colors of vegetables and fruits a day”. Why? Because we need vitamins, minerals and fiber to optimize our bodies. So let’s reframe breakfast. Kids don’t have to think muffins and cereal are “breakfast” foods. Pull out left overs. Think sweet potatoes on the side of a turkey roll up, green beans with an egg, cherry tomatoes and a cheese stick, celery with peanut butter.
If you accept this change eventually your kids will too. Don’t forget “just one bite” is a start.
