East Texas Community Clinic Receives FQHC Awardee Status
Milestone strengthens access to federal resources and future healthcare expansion across East Texas
ATHENS, TEXAS | August 14, 2026
East Texas Community Clinic, Inc. has officially achieved full Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status, marking a significant milestone that strengthens the organization's ability to pursue federal resources and expand healthcare services throughout East Texas.
Previously designated as an FQHC Look-Alike, ETCC is now eligible to apply for federal Section 330 funding through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), along with other federal grant opportunities. Funding remains subject to application requirements, federal priorities, availability, and award decisions.
The designation also creates an opportunity for eligible FQHC services and providers to seek medical malpractice protection through the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), subject to applicable federal requirements and determination processes.
