The summer solstice is used as a metaphor to represent the long, arduous journey faced by individuals with Alzheimer's and their caregivers, with each day often feeling like an eternity. Events held on this day encourage people to "outshine the darkness of Alzheimer’s." This year, Kristyn kicked off the event with The Bridges at Bent Creek by leading the residents, families and staff in a parade around the building singing "Don't Stop Believing." Residents laughed, sang, and played rhythm sticks, but most importantly, showed how important and loved they truly are! This was followed by a presentation from the Alzheimer's Association to educate and support residents and their families. It was a wonderful day filled with support and love!
