September is ***dePreventionMonth 💜 Throughout the month, our community is coming together to raise awareness, reduce stigma, remember those we’ve lost, and remind one another that help and hope are always within reach. Lebanon County's Su***de Prevention Task Force is marking September's National Su***de Prevention Month with a full slate of events, including trainings, a candlelight vigil and the 10-year re-dedication of its Remembrance Garden at Lions Lake.

90% of our most recent referrals are school-aged children adn teens. Oftentimes, the hardest part about going back to school is the change in routine and preparing for the unexpected. During our music therapy sessions, we work on teaching children and teens ways to feel safe and regulated, even when experiencing change and uncertainty. It's a bittersweet day as we say goodbye to Miss Rachel. 💜 She has touched the lives of so many people through her music therapy work and although we are sad to see her go, we are so excited to see her grow in her next endeavor.

As one chapter closes, we open the door and welcome Miss Sarah (yes another one!) and Miss Julie! Welcome to WBMT! 🎉

Lindsay and her family traveled to her ancestral land for the first time! 🇬🇷 They were welcomed with open arms to the little village of Akrata where they met family, heard stories and walked through the home her grandfather grew up in. They also visited Athens, Corinth and the Island of Naxos. 🩵

WBMT is celebrating ✨ ONE YEAR ✨ in our Lebanon, PA office space!

And what a year it’s been! In just 12 months, we have:

🎵 Held 986 music therapy sessions
🥁 Added 163 new instruments
✍️ Written dozens of songs
🎸 Changed 13 strings
🎉 Hosted our 10th annual Music Gathering, with our highest attendance yet!

We’re incredibly grateful to the staff at St. Mark’s for their out-of-this-world support of WB Music Therapy and every person who walks through their doors.

And we’re just getting started! In the year ahead, we’re excited to nearly double the number of people we serve in this space. Here’s to another year of music, connection, and growth!

August's self-awareness retreat "Through the Lens of a Circle" brought together music therapists from California, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania. They learned all about mandala theory, engaged in music-making, artistic expression, and supported one another through the process. 💓🌀🪘

We heard from many people that having the time and space to learn alongside other music therapists was a huge benefit to their experience!

Consider saving the date for next year's self-awareness retreat for music therapists, focusing on grief: August 12-15, 2027!

From exploring the birthplace of the American Revolution in Boston, hiking up mountains in Acadia National Park and zip lining across a waterfall in Quebec City, Canada, Rachel has been living it up on her epic family road trip to end summer on a high note! 🎵✨
