Grandma isn't always "Grandma."

Some of us had a Nana, Big Mama, Granny, Madea, Ma, Honey, Mimi or something completely different.

What did you call YOUR grandmother?

And was there a story behind the name?

👇🏽 Let's hear them!

The only grandmother that I had the opportunityto meet...we called her Mom Middie ❤️

Okay...I want to know what YOU think.

Should certain family secrets stay buried?

OR...

Do future generations deserve to know the whole truth about their family history?

👀 This one might get interesting.

Tell me WHY you feel the way you do.

Every family has somebody whose REAL name nobody uses.

You can be 45 years old before you find out Uncle "Bubba's" name is actually Charles. 😂

What's a nickname in your family that has been passed around for YEARS?

And if you know the story behind it, we definitely want to hear that too!

One of the biggest things I hear when talking about family history is:

"I wish I would've asked more questions while they were here."

So let's help somebody else today.

What's ONE question you wish you had asked your parents, grandparents or another elder in your family?

Someone reading the comments might decide to ask that question TODAY. ❤️

I do not take moments like this lightly. It is truly an honor to be quoted in the press release for the Library of Congress exhibit, Memories in the Current, currently at the Muskogee Public Library. There is something powerful about preserving stories, memories, and history for future generations, and to have my voice included in a project connected to that mission is truly meaningful.

“What touched me most was how personal the exhibit felt,” said Rikisha Morgan Harrison, one of many Muskogee residents who came to see the experience on its opening weekend. “The exhibit truly reflects the heart of this community. You all didn’t just present history; you created a space for memory, connection, reflection and healing.”
